MotoGP » Sepang MotoGP Test: Top 50 laps

Abefan:
JedPB67:
BReed: Lorenzos gonna be hard to deal with this year
I think we should wait for Lorenzo to do a run longer than 4 laps before making such a claim. Yes, he's always fast, but lets see his performance after another 18 laps first.
Very valid point. I reckon his front tyre would be in tatters
Knowledgeable people at the track have argued that Lorenzo's style is easy on the tires. He can make them last.

MotoGP » Rossi: I did more of the dirty work than Lorenzo

JedPB67: Banging out a few mega fast laps doesn't really give much useful feedback to Yamaha.
Lorenzo is not banging out a few mega fast laps, Lorenzo is banging out a consistent high multi-lap pace. Which means that he already has the bike where he wants it. The data is available to Yamaha, but the other riders don't ride like Lorenzo. Lorenzo's fast laps are just as valuable for tire temp, tire degradation, fuel consumption and whatever as Rossi's experimental setup laps. Maybe even more so, as these laps show Yamaha what happens when the bike is consistently pushed to a high race pace..

MotoGP » Rossi: I did more of the dirty work than Lorenzo

DontTesttheX: What he is saying is that Lorenzo rides for himself and Rossi rides for Yamaha collectively to improve the situation. In other words, Rossi 'tests' and Lorenzo rides for ego.
Bwhahahahaha. Really? I think Lorenzo has the bike there where he can ride it to another WC and Rossi is still adapting to the whole new situation. His formulation with "doing the dirty work" is nothing else than a dirty mindgame that doesn't work anymore. Really getting tired of his press antics.

If you think that a rider can tell his team that he will not test parts, than you are delusional. When Yamaha says: Lorenzo, today you will test these suspension settings, these brake pads, and these frame modifications, he will have to do it and will do it. All this arrogant and lazy bull**** is just that, bull**** when it comes to doing what your boss tells you to do.

MotoGP » Pedrosa: New engine not a big difference from before

Technicians at Honda are stubborn aren't they? Focussed on peak power they sacrifice all else and look proud and happy at their dyno charts. The technical achievement is there. That it is unusable to ride to a WC is the team's problem. Solve it with electronics, chassis, riders, tires, whatever. The engine is good. Some things never change.
