F1 » Hamilton fastest as Mercedes dominates FP1

Red Bull, McLaren or whomever never dominated like this. 1.7s is effin ridiculous. And that the teams and FIA agreed an engine freeze in the first year with a few days on track testing is even worse. I am not blaming Mercedes, but the situation fans are in is not good. If Honda, Ferrari or Renault cannot close the gap before the start of 2015, we are stuck with a dominant Mercedes for half a decade. I am not going to watch that.

F1 » Kobayashi retains Caterham F1 drive for Abu Dhabi

PistonBroke2000 Give me 1 good reason to sponsor Caterham from a Japanese perspective. Is it a Japanese team? Are they any good? Do they get a lot of airtime? Can the driver do anything interesting with the car besides a lucky shot in a race where 80% of the grid fails to finish? No? Then why put money in Caterham. Zero return on investment. Only foolish Brit and Dutch ritch daddy boys bring money to such teams.

Sportscars » WEC: Audi: A race can’t be won like this

They get on with racing, the challenge is now at the R&D department again to keep current power level with lower fuel need. Either by better aero, engine management, software improvements or hybrid tech. I think that we all want competition, so if Audi cannot develop better or has to burn F1 amounts of cash for a small gain there is no reason why not to allow a slightly bigger tank. The ACO people are very handy with calculators, so I have faith in an honest response to this situation.

MotoGP » Deficit to top 'unacceptable' says Redding

It reads like he has come accustomed to the idea that the factory bikes make all the difference and he was at the limit already. Whereas in reality you need the team and the skills to setup the bike perfectly to do what he describes Pedrosa does. That is not HRC cheating, HRC advantage, etc etc, but pure thinking, setting up and execution. So it looks like he knows that now thanks to this test. Needs to go forward now or it will be the next Aoyama.
