MotoGP » Sepang test stopped after 290km/h Baz accident

The team ran extremely low rear pressure. Another low pressure rear tire on Baz's machine was also in very bad shape after a previous run. The pic of the tire shows complete delamination of the rubber from the carcass and a large a tear in the carcass itself. Looks like an overheating issue from running low pressure. The stress of the high rotational force probably caused delamination and the "blow".

Harris27:
Sasha Alexandrovich: The guy for whom Michelin did night shifts during race weekends to build special race tires and flew them in on race morning.
Michelin did that for other riders who still weren't as fast as Rossi!! (well except Toni Elias, but Toni was a God on 2 wheels, proved himself again and again.... didn't he?) Anyway Go Rossi Go!!! And no not go away, you'll still be mixing it when you 60!!
Elias only did good when he used saturday night specials that Rossi rejected.

The rookie rule was stupid to begin with. I know of no other type of sport where a rookie was prevented to use the best gear by rules. Does a rookie at Wimbledon have to use a racket from the local shop instead of the best racket available. Does a talent like Hamilton have to start his F1 career in anything but a McLaren. Do rookie socker players have to play on 2nd class kicks when they play their first game in the Premier League? It was a stupid rule. People like Rossi, Lorenzo, Pedrosa, Marquez, Doohan -first race on a Rothmans Honda- really have to start on a B-choice factory machine? Why!? I am happy it is gone and any future talent can go to a top team straight away. Spies and Simoncelli should have been on top machines, but stupid rules prevented that.

Guna4699: @Sasha Alexandrovich: Rossi was the one who was the first to benefit from Honda's traction and launch controls. so you mean to say Marc also won't stand out on equal machinery because he had seamless upshift, downshift and complete seamless tech all before main rivals?
I expect nobody to really stand out except perhaps Dani Pedrosa because of his riding style suiting the Michelins perfectly. Just as Ianone seems to get on with them really well. I expect JL, VR and MM to be very close to eachother. If VR at least gets his qualifying sorted. The only champion who rode 2nd class bikes for a while was Casey Stoner. And Rossi when we count his Ducati years too.

@Motojunky Will he really? We are talking about the golden boy who always had the best factory Aprilia 250. The one who got Doohan's crew and a factory NSR500. The first to get a fourstroke Honda (and who lost when Pons build a better than Honda slipper clutch). The guy for whom Michelin did night shifts during race weekends to build special race tires and flew them in on race morning. The one who was the first to benefit from Honda's traction control and lauynch control systems. Who needed a wall when his teammate started to beat him. Who needed psychological games and rule changes to get ahead of others. He is good, but will not stand out on equal machines, just like we saw last year.

F1 » Has Honda cured its power deficit?

Honda should be a bit further than about where Ferrari were last year. Probably better than Renault and TAG, but behind Mercedes and Ferrari. Altough I believe they could surprise us. Not that they are going to win this year, I am pretty sure their engine/chassis integration and package is behind Ferrari and Mercedes. I leave out RBR, because I expect them and Renault to have the worst engine on the grid.
