F1 » Red Bull at risk of missing first 2016 F1 test

Renault will stay. They will develop the last unit (which will be used at Brazil and is a co developed Renault/RBR engine) in their own direction. Renault staff is working at Enstone already. The accountants are busy trying to find the last surprises in the Lotus books. In 2016 RBR will use the co developed engine, but a revised one, with their own regeneration hard- and software and expect to have a 5% power increase at the start of next season. I expect that both RBenaufiniti and RenaultBR engines will be treated as the old Renault unit and not as a new "do all you want because those are new engines" units. Looks like RBR and Renault had eachother by the balls. I wonder though, what Torro Rosso will use now.

F1 » Mercedes ‘already selling power units at a loss’

If that is true, there is something fundamentally wrong with this engine concept. Nice that you reach 50% thermal efficiency, but at what price? And wouldn't it be more interesting and a lot cheaper to go for hydrogen fuel cell electric engines if you want to develop for the future? And if not, why not take your experimental **** to garage 56 at Le Mans and make F1 a cost efficient racing series again, instead of a manufacturer controlled farce.
