Question, who believes LH would take 'instruction from Davy Ryan' were it not in his own interest to do so. Didn't he famously tell RD 'to go swivel'. Question, MW is quoted that 'Ryan was drawn into'the debacle' by whom, was it Hamilton himself? Question, anyone seen David Ryan's account of what transpired (or stewards transcripts)? Question, was that a Hamilton apology or simply more buck passing? Question, would MW know if the H's had spoken to the FIA (MM) which they did, of course they didn't own up to reporting the team in Hungary so why expect them to inform MW of their own damage limitation measures with MM? How much longer will Mercedes keep Hamilton?

Nothing wrong with FA's time at McLaren achieving second in the WDC even with having a cheating team mate and a team actively working against him. Undoubtedly the best driver since MS (and at least as good) with no one else coming close, Ferrari must by now realise neither Kimi or Felipe have what it takes to provide multiple WCC's for them and another driver of the calibre of MS is what's needed. Expect to see FA coloured red in 2010, driving the number one car. Precisely as he did in 2007 but without a parochial and biased team manager prepared to undermine him at every opportunity while sacrificing both the WDC and WCC in the process and throwing $100m down the drain.

"Sunday''s race was a lesson, and Lewis learns very quickly." Damon Hill. This is I suppose the whole point, LH doesn''t learn and his attitude suggests he''ll never learn. Perhaps it''s not all his fault, the strides in car safety plus the examples of Senna and Schumacher are too much for a mindset nurtured by his father and Ron Dennis encourage this recklessness especially when only others on track are likely to suffer.

Off the start line and into the first corner LH could easily have caused a major incident, perhaps serious injuries or death and all because he can't drive. Why was it not more serious? because every other driver took avoiding action. Massa's incident was as bad as it could have been, as such innocuous and only deserved a minor penalty. Hamilton should have been banned for at least 3-races and docked 20 points!

Marc- Most actually spent those years wishing someone- anyone would beat MS. Furthermore (although undoubtedly the best F1 driver of the modern era) Schumacher downfall was his total lack of sportsmanship and his winning record though impressive will forever be tainted (like LH). While MS was a dominant but great driver LH is not nearly in the same class. A drivers equivelent of a class bully without the skill to control the car once he stuffed it up the inside! LH will probable never win a WDC and if he does it will have nothing to do with being the best driver, while FA is driving that accolade will be his and LH will have to compete with all the other young guns for the minor places.

FooAtari... Bridgestone also comment on the numerous flat-spots present, while Massa's boots should have been like thruppenny bits from the first corner there was little further evidence of habitual flatting which is probably the case with LH?

Grumpy_Doctor... The question is do you believe the hype of RD and James Allen, certainly RD won't divulge performance data and James Allen can't! The only graphic relating to fuel fill was that of LH pit-stop at the end of lap 41 he took on an estimated 82ltrs of fuel enough (plus what was onboard) to complete race distance. Fuel consumption is low in Hungary at 2/2.5Kg/lap would have been estimated (s.g. of 0.74), say 2.7/3.38ltrs/lap with 29 laps to complete (including in-lap), all you can say with certainty is that LH had 5 laps of fuel or was running on fumes when he pitted. FM pitted 2 laps later, at best LH had 3 laps at a 0.3sec/lap advantave, not anywhere near enough to jump FM.

05 was certainly a case of a megalomanic getting the better of rational compromise (and eventually the amputation of a nose to spite the face of every motor-sport fan worldwide). Not one of Mosley's finest hours and I'd agree that they (the circuit) deserve something by way of consideration for the embarrassment caused for such monumental stupidity! However, there are GP's and there are GP's, Monaco, Melbourne, Spa and The Brickyard all have something and I'd have it back at the drop of a hat and drop practically any of the anemic far-eastern tracks to achieve that goal.
