Lewis the "silly red light" is to stop numbskulls like you exiting the pit lane at full speed and running smack into a line of comparitivly slow moving F1 cars behind a safety car! The objective, to prevent an accident on wheels like you from killing someone. "I start ten places back in the next race. It''s a bit harsh really. I didn''t aim to ruin anyone''s race. I''ve already lost everything. This makes me stronger. I can''t wait for Magny-Cours."......... that comment suggests Hamilton actually gets better the more mistakes he makes, well if that''s getting better there''s a whole lot of room for improvement yet!

I'll say from the beginning that I like and respect Hill for his general laid back approach and sensible attitude to F1. On this report, which isn't that well argued, he has missed the opportunity to tell us exactly how the MSA voted in Paris on June 3rd. That information would have given some indication as to the backbone of UK motor-sport or whether it was an unprincipled survival tactic on the part of retaining a British GP at any cost!

If you can find any record of the stewards instigating the inquiry let me know. As I recall it wasn't Couglan/Stepney that was the problem in the McLaren team it was an egotistical Hamilton who once he'd got his way went on to squander a 17 point lead in the WDC! Karma!

As I recall, Hamilton after throwing his baby rattle out of the pram at Monaco disobeyed team orders in Hungary and reported Alonso and the team to the Hungarian stewards. Thus setting in motion the Stepney-gate saga, deduction of constructor points and the $100m fine. Perhaps that character trait of opening one's mouth before putting your brain in gear is what FW's recognised as "wall to wall trouble".

As FW's was to say about LH, "The thing about Lewis … it was obvious from his GP2 season, which he dominated, that he was going to be wall-to-wall trouble. And unfortunately, that has proven to be the case." He ruined McLaren's 2007 season and cost them $100m, bit late to be conciliatory!

"You want a war with me", "I'll have a war with you", "My dad will sort your dad" This sounds like playground drivel and all concocted in the fevered minds of two 70 year olds who think their little plans mean anything anymore. For Max the adage" You can fool some of the people....." springs to mind. Not any more Max but please stay until your totally humiliated so I can maximise the pleasure of your departure!

Dennis should have insisted on a letter of apology/retraction and published it! A simple statement to the effect of RD's (although I believe him) is still open to denial by Novak, better to have it in writing and placed in the public domain. As Calvin points out, it's good to see Mosley's mates crawl back into the woodwork, will Todt et al follow? All that's required ahead of June 3rd, is for Prince Albert to inform Ecclestone that Mosley won't be welcome at Monaco, job done!

Todt is 62 (b.feb-46), cut in half you'll find 'Ferrari' running through him. What the FIA requires is someone from outside the motor-sport world to ensure transparency, impartiality and stability. Although Todt has done wonders with Ferrari, he has too much baggage for the FIA to seriously expect objectivity if elected. Furthermore as the preferred successor and groomed by Mosley who's judgement in so many areas has already been demonstrated to be flawed, why should it be relied upon now.

rich ard- Just seen a photo of the nose with something sticking out of the top opening (possibly a pitot tube or is it something else?). Certainly the ground effect cars were passive (the Brabham was probably an active system). If it is a pitot tube, which can allow measurement of both static and velocity pressure, you might ask why?

For what it's worth, it will be the 'opinion formers', Ford, Mercedes, BMW, VW and the like along with all those multinational sponsors who'll ensure Mosley goes. Seeking some respite from the row in Jordan (when he should have been launching the 'Racing against Racism" in Spain) apparently half those invited stayed away from the inaugural dinner, that marginalization will be what does for Mosley and not what the public think.
