Part of the problem is that F1 is no longer about technology or innovation. Its only about who can find a little snippit of an advantage in creative rule reading. Hell, a WRC car can out accellerate an F1 car these days, and do that on gravel. The current set of stupid rules has no relevance to doing anything to promote creative engineering or progressing technology. Part of the reason for insane spending, through looking for silly little changes and being unable to progress on creative new solutions. Let the engineers run free, give them a box, and tell them the car must fit it and anything goes! Not the current BS we now have.

You know, the weather would be probably bad, the location not really the most picturesque for the race, and probably not as swanky for the PR machine as anywhere else would...but it would still kick the living daylights out of the crap we currently have in Velencia!

As has been mentioned above...the new McLaren road cars are McLaren powered. And trying to market your own cars when your race cars aren't powered by you is not really the direction to perfection we expect from RD. Buying up the engine production side of BMW F1's makes perfect sense in this. It gives them a direct jump in the resources they need and sooner, than would occur through building it up from the ground. While the possibility of no longer using Merc power is possible, the relationship won't end since Merc own half the company almost. Even using their own engines, Merc won't walk away as much as Fiat could walk away from Ferrari.

And to throw even more stuff in on this, to quote said witness: "Mr. Symonds had mentioned the possibility of a crash plan to Mr. Briatore" during the team meeting with 10 others. Taking that on word, he knew, but so did BOTH drivers, and there engineers and planners. You have 10 people, who are trying to save the team and know they had to do something? So they ALL went along with it?? Even giving that as evidence which is lacking as there is no one else to back it up other than Piquet. Yes Flavio was used as a scapegoat and it yet again shows how corrupt Max and the FIA are. And while I may not like Flavio, I must admit having him around did make the grid more interesting and less grey!

Think the interesting part in this was: "Mr. Symonds had mentioned the possibility of a crash plan to Mr. Briatore". So let's see here, Symonds came up with this, gets banned for 5 years. And Flavio who we all know is very popular with Mr Whiplash, he gets it suggested to and goes along with it gets banned for life? Ok, he was in charge, and could of stopped it. But as everyone else knows, the entire team was about to be shut down unless they pulled a rabbit out the hat...which they then went and did do. Still utterly stinks of double handed FIA shifty behaviour to get rid of Flavio over his FOTA attacks on Max than to seek actual justice.

Can see it now, Force India scampers off into he distance while everyones stuck behind Trulli giving Fisi a "free" pitstop. Well...ok maybe not, but it would be an interesting change to the season :)

Its a great track and should stay, just shows how utterly out of touch the idiots running the sport are for adding more and more utter boredom tracks from Tilk when there is a good supply of proper racing at proper tracks in countries the racing should be in.

Its an interesting bike...but I dunno, it seems just wrong on so many elements. The ceramic brakes just seem a total waste of time, disc brakes are ment to be hydraulic, not piddly pully cables. Having gps integrated into a sports training bike. When the hell is someone out training going to get lost by not knowing the training route they are on? It probably has a market, to some rich muppet but realistically, it seems utterly the wrong hardware for the job which would be out performed by cheaper and much more suited equipment.

Seems very odd for Webber to be believing in losing. For a driver in the fastest car at the moment, what the hell is he thinking? Fine you don't go out there and expect him to be slow, but going out and thinking you're going to lose to him...come on Mark, get your head together! You can win this championship, get on with it!

Quiet simply this has utterly nothing to do with the mistake by the engineer. This is punishment against Renault, and mostly Flavio for his part in the FOTA/FIA battles of recent. F1 governance is nothing more than primary school playground antics these days. Its a joke!
