F1 » Haas: We can beat the Europeans

richard: walrus. I certainly do not lump all americans with the same group. but st is unfortunate that some of your leaders want to control what every other country wants to do, whether or not they like it! I wonder when the invasion of ukraine will begin? of course the question is who is a native American? I deem the Indians as being the native American, all the rest are "blow-ins". and certainly, mr haas, with a name like that, is surely of dutch ancestry? as for marks excuse about windy? windy likes to think himself as being American. remember his comments about an ALL American team? you don't want him? well neither do we !
I believe that Russia has already invaded Ukraine. You are correct though, we should have learned from GB's failed attempt at a world empire. You had a good run though. The Windy comment was from another thread but if you want to banish him from England perhaps one of your former prison colonies would be more appropriate.

F1 » Haas: We can beat the Europeans

Jim Clausen: Nascar is to racing as professional wrestling is to wrestling. It's nothing but a show with manipulated finishes.
A bit like the current state of F1 then? The safety car was the only thing that made the last race somewhat interesting. @richard - Thanks for the apology. Generalizations and stereotypes can make one look just as arrogant.

F1 » Haas: We can beat the Europeans

walrus909:
Jim Clausen: "Myself, I'm a proud Scot who just happened to be born here, I had no say in that matter!" Walrus, if you were born in the U.S. you are an American. If you were born in Scotland you are a Scot.
I see your point as far as laws go, but not blood and heritage. If two Eskimos travel to Poland when their child is born, is he a Pole?
So then when richard is critical of "Americans" he is actually being critical of the native American population? That seems unlikely.

F1 » Rosberg’s pride at silencing ‘very unfair’ critics

107SS2009: I don’t and can never agree to changing the regulations while the season is in progress because one team by managing to do the best job is dominating and because of that some will switch off, as far as I am concerned , good luck to those that will switch off, they switching off will in no way effect my opinion as to what F1 is all about.
I agree that it would be unfair to change the regulations mid-season. Having said that I fear that many fans are losing interest and that will hurt the race promoters. I have no desire to spend my money to trek to Austin to watch the series in it's current condition. My money will be going to historic events and/or Indycar.

F1 » Rosberg’s pride at silencing ‘very unfair’ critics

107SS2009: but blaming the rules/regulation for that state of affairs is childish and stupid, saying/pushing for a rules/regulations change smacks of extreme one eyed fan-boy-ism from a marked-up and entrenched side-of -the fence position.
Sunny - I don't think that anyone is blaming the current regulations for this. Merc did a great job to be so completely dominant. You could make an argument though that the lack of testing and the engine development freeze will lock in Merc's advantage for the foreseeable future under the current regulations. While I can understand why it is unfair to change the regulations I can also understand that not doing so will cause some people to lose interest in the series. At least there are other series and bikes to watch if we want to see closer racing.

F1 » Maldonado penalised for Gutierrez clash

Slagheap: Ricciardos penalty was a team mistake...not a drive rmistake. I would have said penalise the team financially, but not the driver who was not at fault.
That is a fine opinion to have but it is not the rule that the teams agreed to. Drivers and teams win together, lose together, and are penalized together. This is far from the only penalty that a driver can receive in which he was not at fault.
