R.I.P. F1!

We have already lost most of the classic circuits now this may be the final nail in the coffin. As much as I love F1 I would rather see the teams stick to their guns that let Max win this one.

On Ferrari needing F1 to sell cars, that simply is not the case. All of the Ferrari owners that I have met are aware of F1 but I would hardly consider them fans of the series. If Ferrari were to run at LeMans and Indy it would create a huge amount of publicity. Probably more publicity than they are getting from on track this year.

It all has to do with the amount of space for hospitality and sponsors. The FIA is trying not to hinder that, given Mclaren's requirements (so much for a Ferrari bias). This is why they were allowed to move to a larger space for the first two races. Since Bahrain has equal amounts of space Mclaren were put the last garage as they should based on last years standings.

F1init - The drivers that you feel were robbed, deserved to be penalized for driving like that on the racing line. They could have gone as slow as they wanted and not had a problem but they chose to stay on the racing line. If you ask me they got off lightly. They should have been put to the back of the grid like Schu was in Monaco. You could make just as good of an argument that they did it intentionally. Even DC has received a harsher penalty for blocking in qualifying. Not much of a gift to Ferrari considering that they had already out qualified these bozos. Any safety rule is the result of an incident. Rules are not made until there is a problem.

They still have access to the property, just not on EJ's road. Sometimes it takes actions such as these to get the situation resolved.

Darryl - Maybe your were corrected by that chap because you SHOUTED. Being an American myself I am always amazed by my countrymen's lack of geographical knowledge. Since when is Australia European?

There is a difference between team orders and a teams stragey. As I have said before unless team mates can pit at the same time one will always have a more competitive strategy. If the goal is to have true equality between team mates they need to change the rules so both can pit at the same time. Besides this is a team sport.

The novelty is not that he is black but that he is a black F1 driver. Obvioulsy this is not the sole reason he is getting so much attention as we all saw how Button would be mentioed for the championship before he even won A race. Purely based on his driving Lewis is far more deserving of this praise than Button ever was. On the GPDA issue obviously Lewis would have a much larger impact than Kimi. He is more articulate and has a more polished image than Kimi. It seems like a natural fit for LH while it would feel forced for Kimi.

If FA and KR team up at Ferrari that will be the year that LH wins the championship. These two will be preventing each other from building a points lead giving LH and Mclaren the opportunity to execute a strategy gain maximum points.

Sorry to take this a little off topic but I am curious why ITV would want to drop F1? If LH is such a draw in England and according to many people on the brink of being the next British WDC it seems like a strange time to stop.

That is true but why even get into the fuel credit issue? If it is not fuel then it is going to be to "conserve the motor". As long as it is the same for everyone it will be fair. Don't they already let the drivers pull off track in Belgium, or is that just after the race? Giving them a safe place to park seems to be the easiest way to get them out of the way. While it might be safer if on the in lap they are going closer to qualifying speed, I bet there will be more of a chance that someone will be impeded as it will take longer to overtake the drivers pitting.

I am not a Webber fan but to be fair the "pop" he had at Hamilton had nothing to do with Hamilton's skill. All he said was that opportunities to win the WDC are rare. This was backed up by a similar comment from Stewart. As usual people respond to headlines not the actual article.
