James L - I tend to agree with you here , Shakey will be up there i feel and i do think Rea will be too as he knows the tracks from WSS and is super quick on a Superbike. Be interesting to see how the BMW goes too, i cannot see then entering with anything other than a very competitive motorcycle personally.

Of course he was a worthy winner, he ended the season on the most points, had a few strange penalty decisions go against him this year too, only one that was valid was Canada i.m.o. Lady luck plays a part in every championship, last year it was Ferrari, this year McLaren. Let's get over it now , the questioning etc, not sure why this is being asked, you can't go on one race result anyway, i thought Lewis drove a very professional and sensible race in Brazil , why get involved in a front running dust up when 5th will do. Kowalski - don't worry pal , some people just cannot see the facts when it comes to Rossi. ( and Casey suffers from the same thing too sometimes ) It's ok to be a fan of one or other rider but it show's a lack of intelligence if you have to deny your non favoured riders achievements , as in this case.

Lorenzo , you are half correct , he was driving a 3.0, BUT it was a restricted one as some teams could not afford to go to the new 2.4 at the time so had performance limited 3.0 cars , so he didn't have an advantage in those tests. This was widely publicised at the time too and 11th in New Zealand , according to the people in the know , was pretty impressive. ( again widely reported at the time ) You Rossi haters are an even funnier bunch than the Rossi lovers........

i.m.o it should be fine for ANY team with a chance at the title to let the driver through who has the chance of the championship , crazy if they didn't allow that !! It would be the same in MOTOGP , if it were closer this year i'm sure Lorenzo would make way for Rossi or Hayden would make way for Pedrosa.....

It's funny as McLaren often has a pop at others for using team orders when they were also one of the worst for it , with Hakkinen and Coulthard in the team , one season Coulthard had to move over in the FIRST race in Australia to let Hakkinen through as they had an AGREEMENT that whoever went into turn one first would win the race !! That was the day i stopped supporting Coulthard , what real racer would do such a thing in race one ! Team order when it comes to this part of the season i feel are correct , it is a team sport at the end of the day and you must do what you can for your team to win.

Paul 46 .. Kelly Black seemed to miss Troy Bayliss 3 full seasons in MOTOGP , two on the Duke and one disaster year on the Camel Honda ? Don't you hate statisticians ? I like Hayden also, he comes across great and i really feel he'll be a winner on the Ducati. He was royally shafted by the Puig/Repsol squad, even AFTER he won the 2006 title. Bo.

Spartacus , your mention of Bayliss made me think that's all , not many riders in their mid 30's can still cut it at the top , Bayliss was one of those who could as he was a bit special and had been at the top for a lot of years. I merely meant i didn't put Glen in that catagory , he is a good rider of that there is no doubt but imo not good enough to land the top ride in BSB. However, always comes accross as a nice enough fella so if he wins i shall doff my hat to him as i was wrong. We need something for BSB next season as we have lost a lot to world series next year.
