MotoGP » Deficit to top 'unacceptable' says Redding

@Nate44 Based on the article, he expected more as well. I do not see the excuses you mentioned...at least not here, he admitted to being off and underperforming and also that he could not figure out why, just that he was not able to use the power so while he was comfortable on the bike (minus a few needed changes for his height and weight) he was not able to use the bike to its full potential... I was a little disappointed too as I expected more. Especially since Petrucci jumped off a crap bike and hopped onto a better one and was straight away impressive... I expected this from Redding as well and I think he expected that too! With that said the fact that he was faster on his slow OPEN bike definitely points to a technical issue i.e. set up, which most likely in large part stems from an inexperienced team also. He has the ability, now he and team need to learn how to use that tool...

Agreed with Realist... if we are going to bag on Suzuki in 10th then what about everyone else behind them???? The bike is new and had major reliability over the race weekend. The engine was detuned for DePuniet to ensure reliability so IF Aleix is running the same detuned engine he is doing great...no seamless, low power, and Aleix already stated they have aerodynamic problems probably because of his height but Suzuki will work on this!! In all, this is a good start for them with a lot of issues and development yet to iron out. Petrucci is also impressing me a bit...I understand that this is merely testing and pushing for the fastest time was not a priority but it is interesting nonetheless to see Danilo in 7th ahead of Crutchlow and Redding who are on supposedly better equipment. With that said he could have used the soft tyre not available to Crutchlow and Redding...but Redding is seeing that the factory Honda is not an automatic top 6...it still has to be ridden and his team have a

WSBK » Leon Haslam signs for Red Devils Aprilia

I think Leon still has it to be competitive.... The Honda was not the bike to do it for him...nor many others included one certain champion that left Honda and became champion!... I do not necessarily believe he will ever be champion but he is a competitor and on a proper bike he can be a champion... He had the opportunity but Suzuki failed him...Started well on BMW but never really improved much and Melandri showed him up a bit.... Anyway, I hoped his 2009 Honda experience would help him but even Rea has jumped ship so I did not expect much more from him at Honda but had my fingers crossed! With the rules next year...I do not know what will happen but stories have conflicted about Aprilia's capabilities in "standard" guise...so it really depends on what machine he shows up on next year...i.e a competitive new rules Aprilia or one that struggles under the new rules....

I guess I will keep going....lol Nicky could also prove well with more power too and the remaining superbike boys are still in question at this time... I think Miller picked a bad time to come to MotoGP directly from Moto3.. he could have faired better 2-3 years ago!! Miller's positions this year will not reflect his potential TBH.... because he is racing against a massively experienced field....he may have the superbike boys as a guage but with little to no big bike experience and electronics, he could suffer plus the RS Honda may still not be the bike the Open Yamaha is which could put him on the back foot even further...

Well...I can say this, making the top ten next year is going to be a mad house challenge as it seems the top 15 guys or even more have the potential to make top ten. I know Bradl is out of it right now but he is definitely a to ten rider IMHO...Once Redding gets that Honda sorted, I believe he will at least be top ten...if Suzuki comes good on their promise and all they have learnt this weekend then I can see Maverick in there as well. Alvaro looks set to press the top 10 with an underpowered bike in stock form at the moment and although Melandri is way out right now, he usually climbs slowly and I believe he is also top 10 material...well eventually and definitely if the Aprilia comes good with their developments i.e. pneumatic valves, more powerful engine etc etc. Danilo P! is also looking in top 10 contention and Yonny...wow I could keep going..

MotoGP » Melandri: We know we are late…

Please do not tell me Aprilia is was testing using the ART in CRT etc blah blah blah... Aprilia gave some parts to some teams that wanted to race they barely got the support but they did get a lot of promises. With that said in retrospect Aprilia could have been much further if they took the ART project more seriously. They could have had more data and more riders gunning for their seats but it seems MotoGP was a later thought, thinking they would follow Kawasaki and just do WSBK, once they realize that the WSBK crowds were dwindling and that MotoGP was regaining dominance in promotion and viewership with DORNA's plan...now MotoGP became a priority particularly since they can now check the TITLE blocks in WSBK!!!

I think Marco's position will be dependent on his performance next year particularly in reference to Alvaro.... he looks a little tentative right now but Marco is a big rolling rock..."slightly slow to go but when he goes he gets rolling" I think Aprilia will still look to replace only 1 guy for 2016 and it might depend on who is the star or not so star performer. They will snag up a young upcomer. Rins? Tito? Hell if Smith loses his Tech 3 they may draw for him or if he does well/ok he may opt to go since there is really no movement in Yamaha for him...with Pol getting the preference of any possible factory seat. Or if Cal keeps it up he may be on his 4th bike in 4 years...lol just a little jab there.... I say this because 2016, Aprilia will still be so young and need that rider experience/input for development...Suzuki has been testing/experimenting for 3 years..Aprilia just barely made up their minds 3 months ago....

Supermario: The result looks like 2015 season will be same as 2014 with Honda and Yamaha dominate whole season. It's a little bit disappointed for Ducati for being still behind both Japanese Bikes.
It's OK man...the factory Ducati's are not at the remainder of the test. Danilo is on the Pramac (older model) and he is top 7...Ducati did not have their 2015 machine ready (which we all knew since they announced it) so not a fair comparison at this moment... anyway, I have always expect 2016 to be the year Ducati mounts a title challenge since 2015 will be a whole new design by GiGi (I expect a win or two) but they will have to work out the issues with that model first as well..

When Aleix came to MGP in 2008 or 2007... I believed he never deserved the spot...because he did nothing to deserve it...After his foray in CRT, I was the first to congratulate him and said he deserved a better ride because NOW he had proven himself!!!! When he ripped up preseason last year, I said I knew he could do it given his experience on the CRT and how much he had grown as a rider... I think he is proving many wrong again that said he didn't deserve the OPEN Yamaha.. he should have been on the Tech 3 team IMHO!!! Now with a unreliable underpowered Suzuki look what he is doing and that bike still has years behind the competition... With that said, I would not write of DePuniet's performance as he had multiple issues and they detuned the engine to minimize the reliability issues so I believe he was good for another half second so not too bad.. but Aleix is riding this for the first time (no word yet on the state of tune on the engine) and is impressive!!!

Well using the top 4 as the standard of measure...we can draw some interesting conclusions...firstly Alvaro Bautista under 2secs away...Melandri needs some more time of course... which is good as he is on the "superbike" version (I know the top boys are probably not at their best times yet but interesting nonetheless) Also, Alvaro is ahead of Redding? I do not think this is working according to plan yet for MVDS...the team is new to MotoGP so I am holding my comments until final testing in Qatar...My original statement stands that he will need all of 2015 to acclimatize for any possible top challenge but 6th in the championship at next years end is not unrealistic although difficult with Tech3, Ducati, and Cal looking better!! Cal is doing the business in my opinion as I believed he would but let's see how the season goes.. The top 4? well they are the top 4 with Rossi looking good at a track he really does not like... Thought Bradl would be a little higher but new bike also and he w
