WSBK » Chaz Davies - Q&A

@ Monstermash Chaz has not performed?? Are you watching the same series or are you thinking about a different Chaz...mybe Chaz Bono? 2011 World SSP Champ, Rookie of the year 2012 WSBK, Top 5 with multiple victories in 2013 matching his Teammate victory Tally!! Its apparent that Ducati thinks you do not know what you are talking about. I believe Ducati knows a thing or 2 more than you do about racing!! Not trying to be rude but you must have on some blinders or something!! At any rate how do you think he ended up on a factory Ducati?? I really want to hear your version???... Here I was thinking this was not a comedy site...

WSBK » FIM issues Bimota homologation statement

I was quite happy with the old rules but ZZr600 has a point. For the same reason the rules were adapted in the face of a challenging markets then likewise the rules should account for smaller manufacturers looking to race on sunday and sell on Monday. The market has changed and grids are decreasing...do we really think that blocking Bimota is the answer? I agree with LLarry that they need to adhered to the rules but the rules need to reflect the current state of affairs and motorcycle manufacturers of all size need to have the opportunity to showcase their design and engineering abilities. Besides if there is stringent controls on the tecnical rules does it really matter what the hell they produce...2 wheels, steel brakes, aluminum frame, restricted size engine, controlled electronics, fuel limits & type, combined weight for rider and bike, spec forks and the list goes on and on!!! What the hell limited proddy racer could any manufacturer come up with??? Probably nothing better than

MotoGP » Rossi outlines 2014 targets at Yamaha launch

I also remember the posts about MM being rash reckless will crash and burn in GP etc etc etc. I said he would do great things and will be a champion (although I did not believe this would happen in rookie year).. All of a sudden everyone knew he would do it!!! but I read the post and his fans (many) are just wagonists because he is hot right now!! If he struggles this year against Lorenzo or Dani everyone will say his title was luck because Dani and JL broke collar bones etc etc!! I have watched and read these forums for years and I am no longer surprised by the lack of insights and the swiftness of people to see someone fail. They did it to Casey, Dani (when he ended 2012 strongly), JL(when Rossi was out for injury) and now Rossi...again and again. I do not live in a dream world but I would love for Rossi to shut these people up one more time!!! and if he retires with these same results as last year, I am ok with that too...a distinguished career thay may not be matched in this ne

MotoGP » Rossi outlines 2014 targets at Yamaha launch

BurroMiapanino Unlimted resources????? You mean the frame they were hoping for in June that ended up in development and could not arrive until end September/October..... meanwhile in Honda camp, they tested at Mugello with Ducati and had entire new frames ready for use in Laguna!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unlimited resources is indeed relative because it is not anywhere near Honda (but who is?) not even close to Yamaha, could not even engineer or build their own frames and had to p**** it out to FTR...which is fine.. this is how business is done but to say unlimited resources is a general statement which does not compare to the main protagonist of this championship. Ducati are third best manufacturer that is why their success in 2007 was so spectacular and they have never been able to repeat it with or without Casey!! WHY?? LIMITED RESOURCES!!!! for a sustained attack on this championship!!!! but A for effort!

MotoGP » Rossi outlines 2014 targets at Yamaha launch

@ LLarry, You probably also said the same thing in 2006 and 2007 that Rossi was a fading star who has lost his edge blah blah blah... (I have been on crash since and before that so I remember the posts) I wonder how many mouths were shut after that for 2 consecutive years. Still the only rider in 15 years to win back to back titles (multiple times) including against your beloved heroes. MM being the only exception. Yea you are correct Rossi has not looked the same since his accident but the 2 years at Ducati are not a true reflection...if anything those 2 years may have jarred his confidence but certainly did not remove his ability. When Vale says he is done and does not have another championship in him then I will let it go as well!! because I am not a band wagonist who just go for the hot product ...for now!!

cont'd.... Probably nothing better than an independent builder.... the only separation would be money for research and precious material parts!! which can be controlled as well!! PS LLarry "Mainstream bikes" is a misnomer at any rate.... I thought about buying an EBR the other day (even the cheap one)....when I saw the price....let us say it still is and will remain a thought!!!! for that price it might as well be a prototype!! because Joe Snuffy and Average Guy will never ride, much less own one but here we are racing (US) $10,000 ZX-10Rs against $46,000 EBRs (RS model which is what they race)..... Yes I was able to get a deal on a brand new 2013 ZX-10R for $10,000 out the door!!! Might be less now with the 2014s in stock... So I believe Bimota should meet some standard but that standard need to be realistic for the size and volume capabilities of the manufacturer not a blanket number!!

MotoGP » Ducati switching to Open Class for MotoGP 2014?

cont'd... ...could not compete against the best! but there is nothing further to accomplish there because the format is changing and they need to look to the future for cost, results and develop a strategy of moving forward. The unknown quantity is how well will this standard ECU perform on the factory Ducati...given 4 additional liters, extra testing time with factory riders, and a possible tyre advantage. It seems to me a win on most fronts!! The extra testing may offset what ever they saved with the ECU but right now they cannot overcome the additional advantages going to the Open format. If they stick with what they had last year...the dang Open bikes are gonna romp all over them. The Open Bikes are faster than Aleix's CRT and he was on their *ss all year!!!! So win win for them if they go OPEN!!

MotoGP » Ducati switching to Open Class for MotoGP 2014?

I sounds like a retreat horn going to the Open class but who determines what the factory does. With current tech, Honda and Yamaha are shoulders above everyone and with the pending change to an all Open Class in 2015/16 I am thinking this is not a bad decision although it makes them look silly in the short run! With a year of development under their belt with the standard ECU and more fuel and less testing restriction Ducati has a formula for success and a head start when the standard ECU becomes mandatory and yamaha/Honda are told to put up or shut up. Also keep in mind they may be saving some money too. Also the complaints about the soft tire not really giving an advantage with more power possibly causing less duration, is really not an ssue... they will only use this in qualifying to get a better grid start or if they have colder weather... a benefit either way!! Truthfully I see more pluses than minuses with this decision altough it is an admittance that they could not compete a

WSBK » Denning: We couldn’t be happier with Suzuki line-up

I guess it could be argued that Eugene did not have much option since everything was signed late and there were not many, if any, competitive seats left. Against what everyone believes, I think the Suzuki can win races and Camier would have done it excepting that he was injured but that is just speculation. Anyway, I also believe Eugene saw that potential and aside from the lack of options this was a very viable one that would be competitive. I am sure he would have rather stayed at a factory team but this could be successful particularly if it paves a road for MotoGP.

WSBK » Denning: We couldn’t be happier with Suzuki line-up

Shamarone... That was the same conclusion I came to.... And I am not sure if you had the same incling that some undercover factory support was in place considering Dennings involvement with Suzuki. Not to mention Fixi...all of a sudden, took over engine development from YOSH and suddenly at the end of 2012 there were on the podium and YOSH was officially dropped for 2013.... Fixi...IMHO does not have anywhere near the knowledge and know-how about Suzuki engines like YOSH, to all of a sudden lift a WSBK team from 10-15 place to 2-7 place in a matter of months. Hell BMW could not make that lunge with all their resources and TARDOZZI (eventhough he was just their for 3/4 of a season)....in 3 years.. So anyway... I am not preaching any conspiracy theories, I just believe there was more to it than was being said. Besides, I believe that this (factory backing...transparent or not) was the deciding factor for Eugene signing along with incentives for Motogp 2015.
