MotoGP » Hayden boosts time by eight tenths on Aspar Honda

Positions seem worst for Hayden but look at his time...2:00:8... this is how much faster this field is...remember when only 1 guy or 2 ever did sub 2:00?? less than 2 - 3 years ago. Rossi broke below 2:00 for the first time in Sepang 1...this year. Hayden is not limited by talent but rather by machine...I say put him back on a factory Honda and let's see... ok now let's argue about "he already had that opportunity?" and then we can argue about Honda giving him development parts to develop a bike in his title year and he still managed to win the title!! I got it he is not a dominant winning rider but he is, has and can consistently be top 6 on proper machinery in my opinion. PS His Honda in 2006 and after was not proper machinery...truthfully he probably won because Yamaha's reliability was worst that year.... but he did win.. something Pedro is still trying to do

WSBK » Lowes: Everything that could go wrong, did

If you follow everyone on here...all the teams that are not top 6 should just pack up and leave...or probably they will be more satisfied if only the top 3 race because no one else has earned the spot on the grid... We all know that the Suzuki is long in the tooth but to slate the team as second rate is really unfair...because you can only do so much with the equipment you have. They have shown well in testing and nothing (except past performance) suggest that they cannot be front runners (top 5) even with this bike. I hope they come good because as much as this is not my favorite team and I am not happy with Suzuki for not putting more into this effort, I still want them to succeed!! The team is working hard and they had a bad weekend...

MotoGP » Smith: We're close to being top satellite bike

hate to be harsh but thats called 'lucking' onto the podium." Explain to me how I can luck into a MOTOGP podium!!!! Always thought you had to first make it into MotoGP and make it unto a good bike then actually be in the position during the race to collect the podium that other riders could not do because they crashed... I think Marquez lucked into the win in Sepang because Pedrosa had the better pace but he crashed...sounds a little silly to me but you are being biased because if Marquez/Lorenzo et al did the same it was racing and they won. Did Rossi luck into the win in Misano because MM crashed?? Why isn't Bradley given the same respect? He is by far not my favorite rider and I still do not know how he was given the Tech3 seat in 2013 but hey he has done enough to keep it says Herve Ponchoral!! and dang it, the boy stepped unto a MOTOGP podium because on that day he was the 3rd best!!!!!!!

MotoGP » Rossi: Marquez, Honda have held advantage

cont'd... then technically they are nowhere close to a title if they are losing races....even if it is second all season long... if they cannot find that 1/10 then they will lose bottomline... and Honda holds the advantage... That 1/10th may be the rider but it may be the bike hence the push to close the technical/mechanical gap so the riders can win/lose based on their own performance. Rossi and Lorenzo are past champs and have to believe that MM is beatable and we saw at the end of last year that he was...as good as he is...I believe that Rossi and Lorenzo have the ability to beat MM but I believe MM also has the ability (machine aside) to beat them both...I just do not want the bike deciding this... but 1 bike will be better one year and then another the next...like 2008 - 2010..and 2007...this is how it is...the rider will have to find a way with the strength of their bike... like Lorenzo did in 2012...

MotoGP » Smith: We're close to being top satellite bike

Noriben: It should be reminded that it was a "single year contract" what that immensely "knowledgeable" team boss had granted to Smith, and which is indicative of his dissatisfaction with the performance of Smith in the last two years. In other words, Herve has finally given an ultimatum to Smith. Brad must beat his teammate at least, let alone Bradl.....
Ultimatum or not, if Herve did not see the possibilities he would not be on a 3rd...yes 3rd year contract.... he would have been out...I think even Smith is disappointed with his performance but a smarter MotoGP expert than us sees some potential and chose him above a whole bunch of prospects..I do not agree but I am not the Team manager either..Bradl would be a better choice but alas..let's see what the dude brings this year and be fair with the same latitude we give our own favorite rider...

MotoGP » Second fastest Lorenzo lauds 'step forward'

Lorenzo will challenge for the title this year... so will Rossi in my opinion..MM is steady and strong though and if I had to make a call right now, I would say MM for the title.. but I will not discount Lorenzo or Rossi, hell could this be Pedrosa's year?... Rossi will have a difficult time beating Lorenzo and both will have a hard time containing Marquez...particularly if they are taking points off each other... But good luck and JL is looking great right now...

MotoGP » Rossi: Marquez, Honda have held advantage

I do not believe Rossi is sandbagging but I believe that as he said he did not really get a clear track for the fast time....the window was small on that last day as the heat soared early and high... Basically it seems the Honda's strengths are the same and Yamaha has not closed that gap...and definitely at this circuit hence his reason for reserving full judgment until the test at a different track where different strengths are needed. Rossi was real close to MM in Qatar 2014 but MM was also injured so that may not be a good guage for Yamaha and Rossi. Rossi was ahead in 2013 but MM was a rookie in his first race so not sure that is relevant to 2015... Yamaha and Rossi/Lorenzo need another track to really make a good analysis of position relative to Honda. The argument of the 2 manufacturers being close is relative...yes they are close but if Yamaha is always behind or behind 75% of the time even by .100s...they are still behind no??? then technically they are nowhere close to a title

MotoGP » Rossi: Marquez, Honda have held advantage

Codger: Check out his head in the picture......he never seems to be looking 'up' the track. More like he's checking out his front wheel. Unique style in that respect.
Rossi does not look through the corner into the next corner as is typical...Years ago (wish I could point you all to an article) he addressed why. If I remember correctly he said that on a road/street he found this was most important but on a race track he felt it was not necessary as it was more important to him to know where his front wheel was and would be in that corner...not that he is not looking ahead but not quite as far as other riders or as is typical...
