MotoGP » Melandri: I still feel self-conscious on the bike

I think he will be alright but it might take him mid to late season to really find his feet... He did the same thing in SBK last year... he adapted to the BMW pretty quickly... that said, the 2010 Bridgestones are not the same tyre he is on now... so he will still need time to acclimate to the tyres... he knows how to ride the bike... he will need the kilometers to tune chassis to tyres and engine characteristics... Bautista has the big advantage right now, he has been on these ever evolving bridgestones for the last 4 years so is quite familiar with them and their limits and characteristics... that alone is the 1 second Melandri needs to for the rest, both of these riders and team will have to develop and grow this bike with Aprilia....

MotoGP » PICS: Vinales' Suzuki goes pop...

Well this was to be is a completely new bike and a whole new engine layout that has not/did not carry over from their last foray in GPs. You can do only so much on a dyno but the weapon needs to be in the hands of the warriors, bottomline.... and they will give the feedback. It is very possible they were running on the high end of the tolerances to test the performance and they found out they have work to do...this is what testing is for... Hopefully Maverick has the patience to see out the rough year ahead! We know Aleix does since we saw him wrestle that CRT around for a couple years! Anyway...that could also be bad for Aleix as I am sure he is tired of making up numbers now! He wants to win and he has proven he is fast enough...just needs the machine under him!! Go Suzuki! Go Mav and Aleix!!

MotoGP » Miller knocks two seconds off his Sepang best

It is still early days yet and he is here...nothing any of us can do to change that. So let us move forward.... Right now what is making him look good with less to worry about is the fact that Redding is looking worst off at the moment...on the factory bike. I believe Redding is suffering because of a new team to MotoGP... he needed a more experience crew to guide him and now him and team are in a learning phase which may mean a struggle this year. Miller being a rookie with no pressure but to learn the bike is gathering steam and doing better each we will see how thee year pans out and keep an interesting eye on his progress....

MotoGP » Miller knocks two seconds off his Sepang best

"... he'll get more out of riding the open bike than he would out of winning a bunch of Moto2 races" Not sure if I agree...I think he needs the experience of pushing in moto2 and battling for top positions on "similar" equipment to other top riders. I do not believe moto2 is the only path to success but I think he needed the experience and time and confidence of winning on the moto2 bike MM did and others before him. Riding around for the next 2 years struggling to place top 10 is not what riders want for confidence!!! and unfortunately this is what he has coming for the next 2 years. He will perform well for what the machine is capable of IMHO but he will be fighting for mid-pack results which can hurt a riders confidence in his winning abilities/capabilities!!!! Can you imagine a racer not winning for years??? this takes its toll and makes the rider questions his ability...even if he knows the machine is lacking..

WSBK » Fabrizio made to wait on Aprilia ride

If the bike is right...Fabrizio will wrestle the podium off any rider! This dude has the ability even if he lacks consistency to finish top 3 in this world championship... It is of course difficult to argue because his last couple/few years have been on below par machine....and we could also argue that on the Ducati he never really did what Haga did and look where Haga is now?!... So while I think he can do well on the right bike...I also believe Haga could do it too but we need to keep looking to the future however, I will not write off this dude... he can do well and by well, I mean frequent top 5/6 with a few podiums or more on the right bike! Which to me means he belongs in this championship... More riders than there are seats but that is another argument....

WSBK » ‘Positive’ Guintoli plays down Honda lap times

Well if Guintoli does well (which I seriously hope he does..he is just a good dude) then he is the exception rather than the rule....the only rider to do well on this bike was Johnny Rea. Yes! we have had wins from other riders since 2007 (James T World Champ) but none were consistent and many were complete failures!! on this CBR. If Guintoli fails, every one will know that it is not him and the Honda just needs some serious work to make it a proper world title bike!! In all, I believe and certainly hope that he will do well... cannot say I am confident he will defend the title but by no means do I believe that only a title defense will be considered doing well. If he is top 4 or close 5th with a couple wins at the years end 2015...I would say he has done dang good because we all know that this bike is long in the tooth!! If he defends the title....then wow..many will HAVE TO consider him the best in the business!!!! and a few will have to eat their shorts and hat and whatever other co

WSBK » de Puniet getting up to speed on Suzuki

Braap: @Joeski While I agree with you about people just mindlessly slagging people off, I don't think that Suz is the team to do well in. Both EL and SL are excellent riders and apart from the win at PI where low power isn't a handicap they've only got some lucky podiums. Crescent are a great team but the bike doesn't have the engine needed and the new rules don't address that....
Well to an extent...we know Suzuki needs to improve but Camier's podiums were not luck and 2013 was well..injury laden for him.. 2014 both their riders were new to the bike...remember Laverty was not that impressive in first year Aprilia either... I think 2015 will be better for Alex and DePuniet may well surprise.... I think Suz will be more competitive under these rules..the biggest losers are the top bikes(factory) who have to dumb down their advantages!! Alex just posted the fastest lap of test in Jerez over Kawa and Duc and Aprilia..just testing I know but...

MotoGP » Crutchlow: The Honda is what I expected

Cal will be fine...but I would say top 5 is great for him especially now that the Ducati's are coming up!! He may well lad a podium or 2 but I think next year it will be because one of the top four is out for whatever reason...Cal really never had to worry about the Ducati's when he was Tech3... but now he also has to worry about Tech3 and the Ducati's...Redding is struggling and I do not believe he will be a factor for Cal....but one slip and he could easily be 9th on an otherwise OK will be much more competitive next year for top 10!! Then there is also the X factors...what will happen when Bradl finds his form on FWD Yamaha? then there will be those few races where Aleix may put the Suzuki top 8!! Next year 4th and back will be extremely unpredictable!!!! Hell Top 4 will be predictable but in what order? is the question of the day...I am sure many expect JL to be better and if Yamaha improve comparable to Honda...Rossi could be fighting for a tenth title!!

MotoGP » Miller knocks two seconds off his Sepang best

I always try to be positive and Jack seems to have the ability and fortitude to do well BUT well on an Open Honda is 12th!! in 2015, is this what he came to MotoGP for... with his inexperience it was highly unlikely he would get a satellite bike much less a factory bike.... He (and other riders) need to rip up moto2 and come to motoGP like MM did!! Although Rabat is good he had to work harder than others to achieve his goal possibly because he does not have the most natural talent but if he rips Moto2 next year which I believe he will then he is going to be a hot commodity for MotoGP in 2016!! IMO...Miller needed to do this BUT I cannot blame him...for SNATCHING up one of the biggest opportunity he may ever get in his life! He could have easily gone to moto2 and got eaten by the Piranhas!!! never to make it to MotoGP!! Good luck to the lad in any case...I hope he surprises us all!!
