MotoGP » Moto2: Mika Kallio moves to Italtrans

A rider challenging for the title and gets canned.... well, I would have thought him safe for his seat but with the announcement of Alex, I figured this would happen.... I actually want him to win now because it will be sand in the face of former employer...canning the World Champ!!.. Truthfully though, he has had the time to shine but only produced flashes every now and then... This seems to be his best year and he is not getting younger but I still figured him for the Pramac seat or even Avintia if they got another GP14....

MotoGP » PIC: Avintia Ducati unveiled at Aragon

owlockey: I think this is a little unfair on Yonny, he should surely get a GP14 over Barbera and Di Meglio?
I wouldn't be surprise if Yonny got the GP14.2 that they are now testing for next year..it's already built and they got at least 2 of them already (one for Iannone and one for Dovi) the GP15 will be the factory boys bike... So Yonny is in a good position...IMHO... My only regret is that Nicky got let go or left Ducati last year... Would love to see how he would have gone on this new Open Ducati... Surely better than Cal is doing now.... Nicky might want to consider going to Pramac but with the new RC213V Open bike with this years engine...he could be in a good position...

Not sure if this us bad for Yonny or not....remember that Yonny is running the factory option software...Barbera will run the Open ECU...untested at this point and definitely not as advanced as the factory software...Barbera would have most likely got an early model GP14 not the upgraded stuff they just received a few races ago...plus Barbera will probably be running this same bike all of next year and Yonny will get the more updated GP14 and have factory software come next year...he will be in a better position than Barbera in any case... Remember that the early GP14 and GP13 are dam near the same bike..it was the Open concession that made the difference I performance...

MotoGP » Ducati confirms 'GP14.2' debut

I am not saying Rossi is an engineer by any means... But notice that GiGi has not done away with the aluminum frame...the same direction Rossi and Jeremy pointed them in the first place...the same aluminum frame that is now been used to move the team forward... I no longer hear the slagging comments about Yamacati.... But I suspect that is a Rossi hating thing...lol PS I would not say Ducati are listening to Rossi and Burgess 3 years after the fact but I suspect with GiGi at the wheel, they are now coming to the same conclusions and after the mishap with the Rossi situation...they are no longer willing to risk the loss of arguably the best talent in the engineering business...does this mean they have learnt from their past mistake and are more willing to listen to riders and change accordingly? the old way/mentality certainly was not working....

1MoreRound: It's kind of funny to me... the guy on the Sat bike gets the newest, greatest stuff- and the guy on the factory bike, with the biggest paycheck, gets the rubbish bin special to ride around on. I can't say I blame Ducati one bit.
I agree with you...but this is normal...it's not some kind of punishment for Cal and he would have expected this.. Remember Yamaha did the same to Vale when he announced his defection to Ducati....so it's a neutral story for me regarding Cal's treatment but for sure exciting regarding improvements for the Ducati.....

BSB » Brookes rules himself out of title hunt

Bridewell will be #1 rider at SMT next year, Brookes is leaving...lol Jokes aside he is improving but a little too late for a championship run with only 1 victory to his name. TBH I like Bridewell but he has underperformed this year IMHO. He had an excellent run last year at the end with the Yamaha ( and the Kawasaki too) but he has not improved on that at all...in fact he has less podiums this year but let's see because there are a few more races...yet to run

MotoGP » Ducati confirms 'GP14.2' debut

Polyccio: Great to see the stuff Rossi and Jerry asked for 3 years ago is finally ready to use. I hope Catweazle gives those guys the credit they deserve.
Too funny..with Dovi's style similar to Rossi...I did not think he would do as well, I thought Cal's style would work but as cal said he has been riding like Lorenzo so his Stoneresque style was not a true statement... let's be honest...Dovi did not do well last year under last year engineering...GIGi must be listening to his lead rider coupled that with the Open concessions Dovi is doing the business. IMHO, GiGi mentality is probably in the same vein as Rossi in terms of direction for the bike. Ducati messed up and let Rossi go...they will not do the same with GiGi and are now giving the engineering and the team what they need and at a faster rate....

MotoGP » Loris Baz looking for a ride

So the fact that some riders find other riders set up useless...is irrelevant to you. Years of data is great but what happens when the bike is new? Or the rider was different? The new rider requires different set up geometry etc. point is, the crew chief is paid regardless, no more or less because the rider is taller...his job is just to find a solution regardless of height or weight.
