MotoGP » Dovizioso: One of the toughest for Ducati

Dovi is being cautious in his statement. The GP15 works well so far at different tracks but Jerez is tighter and relies less on that HP advantage but if the turning and that front end is that much better, then I suspect he will have a better time at this track than in the past...not to mention he is riding much better and with confidence... Podium contention IMO...

MotoGP » Chassis upgrade for Scott Redding

Dean Dean:
golfnut04: Hayden or Laverty would be faster if they had the same machinery.
Redding is a class act, ... ! Hayden is a really great bloke but has won only a few races, and won a WC, on a very personally factory tailored prototype / one of the finest race bikes ever produced...
Whoaa..I agree Hayden has only a few wins but you also forgot that he won that 2006 title while Honda gave him development parts for the favored Dani Pedrosa in the middle of the title fight for the championship...the tailoring was for Dani not Nicky but he won the title anyway!! Nicky did not like the new developments but was made to race with them while Dani opted not to....as the bike itself grew increasingly smaller to accommodate the petite Pedrosa..

MotoGP » Chassis upgrade for Scott Redding

Tomco: Dont forget Jonathan Rea who had never ridden a motogp bike was 6th or 7th and admitted to riding carefully. Redding has been disappointing but I think he will improve otherwise he will go the same way as Bradl. We will find out in the next 2 or 3 races I believe.
Rea also did that in a time of minimal competition...Rossi was riding the brick Ducati and Ducati now is not the brick Rossi was riding then!!! plus there are 2 of them and both were behind Rea in 2012...You really think that would be the case now? but I will say I also expected a better start from Redding but preseason proved how much of a challenge he had laying ahead!!

MotoGP » Rossi: The championship is still very long!

@serious4play Also the season was shorter 6 - 10 races, so Agostini won most if not all and rarely did he see 2nd or 3rd positions. Agostini would often lap the second place rider .....So Rossi has won as much as 10 races in a season but that also means he has 5-7 other podiums in the same season that were not wins...Agostini would also not show up for remaining races once he had the title... so there was no settling for 2nd with him hence the relatively low total podium count (considering how much he won and how many years) but high win amount....

MotoGP » Aprilia MotoGP form ‘in line with expectations’

Oli: Melandri is a head case, if the bike is good he can race with the best on his day, but when the bike is bad he is awful. We have seen it many times in his career, from his genius on the 990 Gresini bike (06) to being poor on the 800 Gresini bike (07), really awful on the Ducati (08) to being very good on the Hayate (09). If the bike works, so does Marco, but he has a weak mind.
I like Melandri but you are correct and maybe that is why he is not suited to this kind of ground up project..he needs instant results to fuel his continued performance...I suspect, out of the points in every race does nothing for his fragile ego... Aprilia should have left him in WSBK and brought him to MGP once the kit is more sorted with top 10 performances in 2017 maybe..

MotoGP » Marc Marquez confirmed for Jerez

Teaser story that we all knew had one outcome....there was never a doubt! MM is good at Jerez but I think this year Rossi may have something in the bag for him. Of course, us Rossi fans hate when injuries come into play because the win is never counted as fair or deserving.... PS with that said MM could walk this one as well then the injury will only serve to make him more heroic...and deservedly so if he wins. Anyway...it has been years since we have been in such a state of uncertainty because die-hard fans of any rider cannot say anything without serious doubt...I want Rossi to win but who knows with MM, Rossi, Dovi and AD on form...and will JLo bring it this weekend!!??? we just do not know...CC has also done well here on the tech3 I think, and he is looking good at the moment as well...roll on MotoGP!!!!
