MotoGP » Rossi: Stoner at Laguna my best battle

RE LAGUNA 2008 What bothered me personally was that there was never any contact throughout the whole race but Casey was still p*****d off.!!! Riding in a race or group means you must take avoiding action when multiple riders are gunning for the same race line or commit and hope the other rider gives the way up!!! I think Rossi committed (deepest desire to win) and Stoner lifted to make way...the decision and difference between winning and losing. I understand Stoner's view because from his side he may have translated this as win or crash and take me out as well.. which may have seem illogical and even dirty to him...but to me dirty is when you start plowing into riders.. I do not believe that happened in this race..whereas Casey may say it only didn't happen because he lifted and gave way!! so I see both sides but from a racing perspective its one way..he lost in a race where there was no physical contact...and fell on his own... good race and tactics by Rossi

MotoGP » Rossi: Stoner at Laguna my best battle

I also prefer the Catalunya 2009 race over the Laguna race BUT Rossi will always remember this battle because unlike Catalunya where it was considered possible to win even though difficult, he was never supposed to even be close to Stoner in Laguna much less challenge him and definitely not win!!! Rossi had to dig deep and use tactics as opposed to pure race pace to win!! The fact that it paid off was just short of a miracle. What marred that race was the focus on the corkscrew pass!! that Stoner himself said was nothing or not an issue and Rossi was just lucky not to take himself or them out...basically a mistake...Casey cited other off camera passes/tactics for his displeasure with this race!!

WSBK » Giugliano dazzles for Ducati despite technical issues

Well my comment is directed at Guigliano whom I believe is just a dang fast rider...he is missing one ingredient in the formula to become the next big thing. This guy is fast almost every where he goes.. which, at least means that he knows the fastest lines around a race track. He has always crashed frequently...This is also a track that does not lend itself to being a Ducati special track but here he is again on top at a track he never raced before!! Most people write him off.. I hope he finds that missing piece to run a race distance... maybe he sucks at giving good feedback for race set up...I do not know... but whatever it is...he is undeniably fast just needs to get it together for a full race...

MotoGP » Rossi: Mistake to leave Yamaha over No.1 status

cont'd .... in hindsight with some humbled Ducati years, Rossi was able to see this more clearly by overlooking his ego which was normal for the time and built in the era of his growth and the new philosophy works and is better for all! Notice that all teams had a #1 and #2... I think Ducati is starting to go the same way as Yamaha... though we credit Dovi with #1 status it seems his support will be no different than with Ianonne! I bet Suzuki does the same because the simple fact is that 2 heads are better than one... and 2 competitive riders are better than one as well for the team and the riders themselves!!

@ Brian With that said, it seems the dispute is between me and you because no such action took place....Jorge did not protest Rossi's return and in fact knew Rossi was the best option for Yamaha with Ben Spies out! Jorge also knew about Yamaha's equal policy as he was probably the precursor to Yamaha's new philosophy! We need to remember that pre-Lorenzo, Yamaha was like any other team...with a #1 and #2 rider... Yamaha's remodeled culture of equal support and treatment was new to Rossi who came from the old school and may have been misconstrued as a demotion.... in support of promotion for the younger rider...after all Rossi had done to put them on top...it is quite easy to see that, to Rossi, this may have seem like a slap in the face. Yamaha's goal was to make Yamaha successful all around, Rossi's goal was to make Yamaha successful through him...which was normal for the era whence he came! in hindsight with some humbled Ducati years, Rossi was able to see this more clearly by overlo

Jorge and Vale get along now so what is the problem??? They have put the b***s**t aside and so can we. Hate it all you want, Yamaha took Vale back and he is doing well...I wait to see what next year brings... With all that said, I FULLY rate Lorenzo!! and know he will be back on full form, he has had a great last half but Rossi had a more consistently full year hence he is in second... I believe Yamaha has the best squad right now and heading into 2015. Honda probably has the best rider or the rider in his prime and on top of his game! but I believe that MM's talent is not necessarily beyond the remaining top 4, he is just on top right now...IF Yamaha can improve in comparison to the Honda next year.. the title fight will be more tight... I do not believe MM will have another run away year like this one!! Vale and Jorge will be stronger and Dani (I hope) will step it up!!

@ Brain With Dani P and Marquez in the pipeline...Yamaha would not budge...Dani P and Vale would have been a good and strong pairing... Yamaha was in the best position...Jorge wanted to stay with the weapon he knew...Yamaha wanted to keep Jorge and they wanted Rossi back...if not for performance then definitely the stardom and the PR pull he had but also because Yamaha remembered what Vale had done for them!!!! and Furusawa advised them to take him back....this was Furusawa's dream to have Vale retire on Yamaha!! Lorenzo could not have blocked Vale's return...he certainly could have tried but that would put a block on his own plans, so he did not and would not trod down that road! PS after the year Dani P had in 2012... Honda was not really about to let him go and Yamaha would have snapped him up if they did (if Jorge had left). Vale returned to Yamaha because he wanted to and Yamaha wanted to...it was the best option for all parties....Jorge was told about it!

MotoGP » Rossi: Sepang podium long time coming

@db8 I do not think Lorenzo will able to execute this tactic this year... He is not on the same form as last year and Marquez is a hell of a lot faster...talent or Honda..choose one! It doesn't matter. Secondly, Rossi is not the fourth string rider he was last year...he is 2nd in the championship and beat Lorenzo at the last 2 rounds where Lorenzo beat him last year! Then there is DP...big question mark because his confidence has taken a knock but he may be out to prove something with nothing to lose!!!! Either way the prospect of the Valencia outcome has me intrigued because we just do not know...even Marquez is not a shoe in because we have seen him falter in the second half.... But is riding a high from sepang which may be dangerous.

Yearby23: Tetley... Well, back in 2005 when Dani Pedrosa won his 2nd title with Movistar Honda in 250's he was supposed to move up to the Movistar Honda team but Repsol Honda insisted that Dani move there....Basically screwing Movistar in the process. Look it up. I doubt Movistar want to be associated with Honda. www.crash.net/motogp/news/75956/1/telefonica-to-fight-for-pedrosa.html
Marquez aside for Repsol...It was probably a good rub in the face that Repsol still has Dani with no world title!!! while Telefonica has Lorenzo and Rossi...Two world champions with multiple titles!!! and one is Spanish...although Rossi, whom they fought with some 9 years ago, probably brings them more attention...I was excited when this partnership was announced!
