MotoGP » LCR Honda confirms Cal Crutchlow

rbr46: We saw what he can do on the tech 3 but there really is no excuses next year. When cal teamed with Dovi at tech 3 he got his a** handed to him.
Handed him his A** is relative...Yes his teammate beat him soundly....lets not forget though that Dovi has been riding in MotoGP since 2006...that is 5 years longer than Cal and how many more years on these tracks in lower classes???? FACT IS... if he didn't beat Cal he should not be on the grid in MotoGP!!! Cal had only1 year in MotoGP!!! so I cannot agree wholly with your comments because Dovi beat (basically) a rookie!!...ok so it was his second year but still...!! Guess what!!! Cal handed Dovi his a** last year......LOL!!!!!!!! any comments about that!!

MotoGP » LCR Honda confirms Cal Crutchlow

Well...there is my confirmation...I just asked for less than 1 minute ago..... PS Just because he got a Honda does not mean he will be able to do well on it... he said it himself...he spent 3 year learning to ride like Lorenzo...he had to copy a style..to get fast...if the Honda requires a different style, he will still struggle although not like he was at Ducati!! He adapts slowly and I cannot see him breaking any boundaries in first year!! maybe he will show some pace at end of 2015 as he gets used to it... However...I hope he stuffs all that mess and make me eat my shoe!!because we need more riders at the front of GP!!!

MotoGP » Miller to join Crutchlow at LCR?

Honda might be trying to not pull a Stoner mistake.....they had him on LCR but let him slip to Ducati. Truthfully when I think of stoner....I think of his time at Ducati...not Honda, although he won a title there! With MM, I am not sure why this would be an issue but Honda may just be looking way ahead. Unfortunately MM proved that u do not need 2 or 3 years on a MotoGP bike to win and that may well be true for Miller although highly unlikely with much less experience. MM had 2 years in Moto2 to hone his skills....so I do not quite see miller jumping up to GP and doing much....at least for 2 more years...2017 maybe...if they keep him around...

MotoGP » LCR Honda confirms Cal Crutchlow

Firefly: I think this is a stupid decision. Bradl seemed to have a lot more in him than Crutchlow.
IF you are debating potential then it is truly debatable.... but look at the black and white print....Cal has outperformed Bradl so far in every "complete" year in MotoGP (this year is not yet over although we can all forecast the outcome). It is true that Cal had 1 year up on Bradl as he was a rookie in 2012 but Bradl had 5 years (give or take) on GP tracks in lower classes that are considered the best feeder for MotoGP... I think we can all agree that SBK is not the dominant force for developing top MotoGP riders so why didn't Bradl dominate Cal in 2013?? on the top bike...Honda.. so "potential" is debatable as this "factory" Honda should be even better than Tech 3...

I always argue the other side to make sure we are objective...I am more a Dovi fan (than Cal) at any rate....although I do tend to knock him for not doing more on the factory Honda... I just do not like the one sided arguments because Cal can ride a bike if a bit loud mouth at times and is one of a few (5?) sat guys to make the podium in the last 7 or so years.

BSB » Rejuvenated Kiyonari eyeing more wins

Someone doesn't lose talent and it seems to me that Kiyo (like a bunch of other Honda riders) was struggling on the Honda...Rea and Lowes are really the only standouts on a Honda... How many teams dropped Honda in favor of a more rider friendly bike (Kawasaki) in BSB???? First year on a BMW and he is putting it on the box and winning with it... this tells me he never lost it and the BMW is just allowing him to remind everyone that he is/was a world class competitor.... and yes! so is Shakey even though he struggled to show this in WSBK. Kiyo did win in WSBK where Shakey failed... So this tells me he is fast and has the ability to win another championship. He will have a tough time beating Shakey who is in his 3rd year with this Kawi package. The wins just gave Kiyo the confidence he may have lost the last few years with the Honda!!!

2008
I stand corrected...3 years more in MotoGP and another dozen...kidding... in the lower classes on GP tracks....

MotoGP » Crutchlow out, Iannone in at Ducati

Not sure what to say...if Ducati pressed this issue then they probably bought him out of 2014 and cut contract for 2015. If he walked then he might have got a lot less than we all think. I am interested in that statement that seemed like Iannone was in at factory Ducati from now on...does that mean Cal rides the Pamac until end of 2014??? or walks away without a ride and sits out the rest of the year?? Initially I thought he was just going to finish out the year and be done for next year... but the article is unclear about that part....need some follow up
