MotoGP » MotoGP Valencia - Race Results

@ Beastinblack it's not almost certain that it will only be a 2 horse race...Lorenzo or DP has the ability and skill to interrupt your prediction. With that said I am asking all Rossi fans to stop the disrespect of Lorenzo (I AM A ROSSI FAN!!!) because when Lorenzo is/was on top we all hated the disrespect of what they called a "fallen star" Rossi... so please do not do the same in return! Lorenzo took a gamble with nothing to lose and Rossi on pace.... it happens.. remember Stoner and Hayden in 2009 possibly 2010 at Donington??? or Rossi at Assen this year? or every one in Germany?...They all take risks and sometimes they gamble on possible chances such as rain and weather... there is luck (bad or good) in racing, Results are not 100% solely up to rider and team... Lucky if they do not get knocked off, unlucky to get a bad tyre, Lucky tyre choice in changeable weather etc etc!!

MotoGP » Rossi: My bad luck is called 'Marc Marquez'!

I agree that Rossi is spurred on by MM dominance.. They are friends but no doubt Rossi wants and has to beat him to take another title. People tend to think that just because you had a great year this year then next year will automatically be better....this is not the case...Lorenzo will tell you that... in 2013, Lorenzo was the more dominant...but I will not speculate too much about what if he had not broken the collarbone and had 1 DNFs and the 2 worst race result at Assen and Laguna after the collarbone.... I mean, this guy slowed down for the whole field to implement a strategy of tripping up MM...that is how fast he was and something you really do not do unless you just have the pace to stretch the field at will, which he had in 2013!!! Same with DP...ended 2012 with 6 wins from last 7 races...only to be beaten by his rookie teammate and finish 3rd in the title following year.... So I will stay clear of the predictions and just wish my rider continued best and hope that Yamaha/Br

wei328 You need to do some research on older bikes and what it took to ride them... do any of these racers except maybe Vale even remember what a clutch lever is (I am being facetious) much less a bike without a slipper clutch????? What about a bike with no traction control, launch or anti wheelie control and engine mapping etc?.... The early 2000 generation and prior of riders were the last defining factor of 80% rider and 20% bike!!! Yes!! they rode the best machines of their time but what are those machines compared to today?...how much workload has the new machines taken over from the rider? and then make an assessment of what those old gen riders had to do to get a 500cc 2 stroke around the track...argue that!! and then tell me who had to use or needed more skill to race.... to compensate for the things those machines could not do like today!!!! Not to mention the glue that is now bridgestone compared to the old tyres pre-Gary McCoy...

Wei328: Yup, remember these guys: Tadayuki Okada(2nd), Nobuatsu Aoki(3rd), Alex Criville(4th), Carlos Checa(8th), Alex Barros(9th). None of them did squat in MotoGP.
All of these guys came from 500s long before MotoGP and a couple were never in MotoGP and when they were in they were aged riders not 21 yrs old... what is your point? PS Criville was a World Champion!!!...different generations without automated motorcycles like today!! Careful..this argument could go on forever as we dispute skill vs automation of machine..

Wei328: Before someone bring up Doohan's 12 wins season in 1997, please go google who Doohan was racing against that year.
Useless argument to compare different generations...Everyone raced against the best of their time...and also I caution disputing Doohan's 12 wins as he accomplish that with 15 races in a season not 18....Marc did 13 wins in a 18 race season...so Doohan would have the better win ratio for a season!! point is they are both great and not competing against each other. Both Champions and deservedly so!!!

Lorenzo 99 points from Marquez...coincidence?...just thought it weird..since that is his number... but he gambled today and it did not pan out...it happens Remember Stoner and Nicky at Donington 2009?...I think, might be 2010..not sure Great job to MM in 2014.... Broke the records (although we can debate about the 15 races Doohan had to win 12 as opposed to 18 for Marc to win 13) Either way, congrats to Marc and all the top riders that stepped it up in the last half to prevent a complete runaway winner at every race as it seemed that at round 10 Marc would cake walk to the perfect season!! Rossi back on top of his game...hopefully he can press MM next year and I expect a stronger Lorenzo and DP....

I want Vale to win...outright! but with the top four so close...it truly can be anyone's race. Years ago and really in the first half of this season, we could almost predict without a doubt who would win. In this last half of the year, that has not been really clear as all 4 seem to have it although Dani suffered some ill-luck. I am not convinced (even though he is my favorite rider) that Rossi will run away with it! I have faith that he has the ability and race craft to do it but he is up against a tough field and Jorge and MM have shown great race pace...we know Vale and team has a knack to pull it out in a race no doubt but I am sure this is not what he wants to be famous for...he wants weekends like Misano...upfront from the start of FP...not fighting from behind, struggling all weekend only to have a little break through last minute... it makes for a stressful weekend and if the team can shake this off for next year..he can be world champ again!!...we all see what he does from a
