F1 » Honda hit by FIA engine loophole

it is no big issue! junglist has it right. but i cannot see many teams opting to run with their 2014 spec engines against a new 2015 engine. yes, there may be one or two teams that are prepared to take a gamble. merc for one, as their 2014 engine will probably still equal a 2015 renault or ferrari engine. the loophole was spotted by rbr, to the effect that they could hold out longer for the improved renault engine, and has absolutely nothing to do with honda and will not handicap them in any way.

rob. it was not arrivabenne who saw the loophole, it was your pal horner. about a month or so ago. i dont see why you are dismissive of arrivabenne though, you dont know his abilities etc, so even if it was him who spotted a loophole, you should actually be praising him for lateral thinking! as for a bridge, we soll you yanks a bridge many years ago. unfortunately you did not get what you thought you were getting! so we had the last laugh! :D :D

F1 » Abu Dhabi attempt cost Marussia £30,000

rob. you seem to be missing the point. the intention was that teams could be limited to 40m. well, surprise surprise...manor (marussia) actually stand to get 40m for their results in 2014. so, if they are still entitled to get that 40m, then manor have the finances to re-enter f1 for this year. it will require a good accountant to ensure that the 40m goes to manor, rather than marussia creditors, but there has been a suggestion that a lot of the marrussia assets have been bought in tri=ust for manor. so we could still see them back

F1 » Alonso the target if Hamilton leaves Mercedes F1

sunny. yes, like you, i fully agree that merc found a loophole and did the best job, but the real problem is that whereas merc previously were able to copy others innovations, this time merc are refusing to allow others to copy them. but it does seem that merc might be relenting a bit following intervention by fia. i really doubt that merc are in f1 for the long haul, and will pull out after a few years at the top.

rob01:
LoveF1: Sorry Zizzu, but you completely miss the point of my 100-metre analogy. And without being condescending in any way, I just can't be bothered to explain it again.
after 60 m you realized that you could not make it to the 100 m and decided to stop and get a begging bucket out instead of finishing the race. Is that what your example/analogy was for?
just like a certain driver did last year? park the car when he thought that he could not win?
