F1 » Mercedes, Ferrari are controlling F1 – Newey

MrJones85: How quickly he forgets. A few years ago Redbull was controlling F1!
i know its christmas, but......what a ridiculous statement! rbr were winning, but they had no control over anything. if you refer to my earlier post, you will see that rbr were exploiting loopholes, and merc and ferrari exploited control by getting the fia to close the loopholes in an effort to slow rbr down now, when you have sobered up, could you please explain how rbr were controlling f1. i am always eager to learn.

valsp: No complaint from him when red bull controlled the racing for years using designs that would have been outlawed if Ferrari had introduced them
so i guess that you missed the fact that when rbr introduced something innovative on their cars, exploiting loopholes, that merc and ferrari immediately filed for clarification and hey presto, the rules were changed to prevent these innovations. so how on earth can you claim that rbr "controlled" the racing?

btr100: You have been and are controlling Aero for ages. But now you don't have the legs to make it work. Did we complain? Of course. But did it work?
what a ridiculous post! NOBODY controlled aero . yes, rbr used it to good effect, unlike merc and ferrari who are controlling what pu and software they will provide to customers. HUUUUGGGE difference. but there is light at the end of the tunnel, ferrari say that str will have the same engine as their own cars.
