F1 » Red Bull at risk of missing first 2016 F1 test

George Zaidan: Aren't we lucky!
it isn't knowing more about RedBull's contract conditions and negotiations, I have yet to see anyone write that Red Bull can just walk away from their current contract with F1 without paying upwards to half a billion dollars. ddenly announce that they are proceeding with lotus buy-out? george. contracts work both ways ans didi is a very astute business man. there will be a performance clause on both sides and you can bet your bottom dollar that renault were required to provide a "competitive pu", and that they were required to continue development. both of which they failed to do. the contract break was said to be mutual, so i would imagine that no money has changed hands. renault were using lotus to try and blackmail didi, and i reckon they lost. whats the betting that they suddenly announce that they are pulling out of f1, or are purchasing lotus?

F1 » No debate for McLaren, but Honda keen to supply Red Bull

what some people overlook is the fact that rb , and did in particular, are not stupid. they would not finally drop renault if there was not a viable alternative. the honda is not as unreliable as the renault, so why not take a punt? the honda is being compromised by the way that macca have packaged it, and i think that if rbr do go the honda route, then they will be more successful than macca. in my opinion, this s all part of a far far bigger game being played between rb, fia and fom. who will win? who knows, bit i certainly would not jump to any conclusions at this point in time.

MickeyOne: Blackmail Didi? Really? Come on - this isn't some bad cop drama (well perhaps the bribing part is). Notice we have not heard a peep from Renault and other than some disgruntled drivers of late, McLaren/Honda have also respected the process. A seasoned engine supplier like Renault doesn't just stop working regardless of anything. Neither side is stupid. Perhaps Horner just wants some time at home with his wife. He's become a terrible front man for the team
well, it is horners team ...arden, that runs the operation, so i guess he has a right to speak about the situation. as regards renault, yes, they are playing games. they were trying to sell off the engine factory last year, but no takers. they could already have bought lotus, but instead gave them some temp relief. its all interconnected. and yes, renault DID stop development!

F1 » Horner: Independent engine supply crucial for F1

KJBOpel400: I read some where the Cosworth had/have a V6 Turbo ready for F1 but just need the backing?
They had a sketch on the back of a cocktail napkin.
You've got wrong! It was a drawing in the sand of a beach! (See what Richard Hammond said in the last edition of Top Gear about the Landrover!)
you are all wrong. there is ONE running prototype and can be seen running on u-tube. but it is not an entire pu with mgu h and mgu k. cossie needed the money to go into production but it was not forthcoming. now who has the money to produce it? not henry ford....but maybe mateschitz????

F1 » Kvyat Red Bull seat not under threat – Horner

benignlyindifferent: True, but he's said a lot of things that conflict lately. He's clearly working hard to get an engine for the Red Bull team. But Franz Tost seems quite assured that a Ferrari deal with year old engines is imminent.
the only way that str could continue if rb withdraw, is for tost to buy out the team and rebrand it. but then they would have no money and would probably not survive. interesting to hear that rbr have four cars designed for next year. so they can go with whichever engine they can screw out of bernie. it also shows that the saga has been going on for quite a while!
