F1 » Standing start restarts confirmed for 2015

i must say that there are pros and cons to this new procedure. the teams voted for this change, so they must find some benefit in it. and at least it will remove the chances of a teammate backing up the field to allow the leader to scamper away, as has happened in the past. this way, there is more chance of a change in positions rather than a "follow the leader" restart. i am not sure how the starting clutches will cope with a couple of possible restarts, as they are quite fragile. but i am happy enough to wait and see if it helps what passes as racing, these days. if it works...great. if it doesnt...it can be reversed. it is turning the overall gp into a couple of sprint races, something that a number of posters have been calling for over the years.

F1 » Wolff: Lewis lost race in qualifying not pits

chopper. no two pit stops can be identical, so there will always be a variation for whatever reason. as regards lulu's pit stops, have you read the previous posts here? he did not stop on his mark, and the crew had to re adjust their position. they did well to take less than a second to do this. if lulu had stopped on his marks, he would not have lost a second. not mercs fault, but lulu's fault. when nico has a slow pit stop due to finger trouble by crew, you dont find people moaning about how the team lost nico valuable time.

F1 » Hamilton ‘absolutely perfect in his head’

sasha. you are right. there are never stories about what support toto or niki give to nico. (or maybe he is just too focused not to need constant support). but a large part of the problem is that the media are so obsessed with lulu, that they ask silly questions about him, and thus we get these silly responses? maybe toto and niki could be asked about nico, but what could they say? "hes fine and is coping"??

F1 » Horner certain ‘frustrated’ Vettel will respond

i see the aussie support force is in full swing! vettel has had mechanical / electrical problems in nearly every quali this year, but when the car has been ok, he has been far closer to the mercs than anyone else. .05s wasnt it? anyway, it is RACE performance that matters, and util he can have a trouble free races, there is little point in trying to prove that "my guy" is faster than "your guy".

F1 » Lauda: ‘Alarm bells are ringing’

of course, i, (and most others) will have a partiality towards a driver who has signs of being good, and negativity towards a driver who is poor or performs below what they are capable of. that is called OPINION. when dr was in lower formulae, i did have high hopes for him, but just because i do not rate him as a possible wdc , i have to be subjected to a certain amount of abuse from some of his compatriots? my point is that jev was as good whilst with str. that does not mean that i think jev would be wdc either, but just that he is equally deserving to be considered as at the same level as dr. so, if you think that dr is a potential wdc, then you also have to accept that jev is also a potential wdc! as is kvyat, magnussen, bottas etc...........................in fact, one of these last three probably WILL win the wdc in future years.

F1 » Horner certain ‘frustrated’ Vettel will respond

just watching a re run on sky. and it confirms what i said a day or so again. guitierrez clearly backed off the throttle coming out of the corner. his regeneration light came on, indicating that he was on overrun, and was havesting power. this has the same effect as braking. i guess that he was backing off so as not to hinder vettel on his recovery drive . rob. it was a lot different to running into a stopped car in the pit lane! now who on earth would do that?
