F1 » Hamilton's second F1 title: A long time coming

mark.sandman.5: Lewis Hamilton answered Nico Rosberg's pre-race goading in defiant style, winning the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on Sunday as he clinched a second Formula One title and denied his brash-talking Mercedes teammate his first. The days leading up to the race saw an upbeat Rosberg talking openly about how he fully intended to make Hamilton crack under pressure. It never happened, and the German driver's dismal race saw him place a lowly 14th after he failed to recover from a poor start.
get real! nico was only 14 th due to his electrical power vanishing. up until then, he was maintaininc a gap (as instructed) to lulu. who know what would have happened if he had retained full power. at least he didnt moan about parking the car as soon as he realised that even if lulu crashed out, he would have had no chance of gaining the required number of points!

F1 » Ferrari appoints new F1 team principal

rob01: Fernando said he was presented the car plans for 2015 and it was the same thing as the previous 4 plans. He saw no differences. This after being convinced that the wind tunnel was the root of all their evils.
rob. you are really falling behind! ferdi had told ferrari several months ago that he was leaving. since then, ferrari has gone under drastic change. glad to see sunny is keeping up to date! now, do you really think that ferrari would tell ferdi all their secrets for 2015. and do you really think that ferdi would know what the under the skin difference would be? and do you think that he would know what differences there would be to the engine, bearing in mind that even now, nobody knows. and then there is your comment that ferdi thinks that the wind tunnel is the problem? did he tell you that in one of his personal tweets to you? the problem is the engine!

F1 » Boullier explains McLaren-Honda absence

Sasha Alexandrovich: Couldn't they have done these tests yesterday or last night? The demo run was probably without the electrical unit activated, but what about all that time in between? It is simply bad management if you loose track time because of these issues now.
from my recollection, at this point last year, none of the new pus had been run. so despite problems, honda have done a good job to get the unit to a track for testing in an f1 car. i also seem to recollect that merc in their early stages also had a number of blow-ups and fires.

F1 » Vettel ‘ready for next step’ after last Red Bull ride

Objective: I think because they changed some PU components on Vettel's he was relegated to start behind Dan. Have a look at the pic posted by Keith on F1 Fanatic and it is clear the Vettel is behind Dan waiting to start.
my confusion was aided by brundle and croft also being totally confused! they didnt seem to know what was what either. however, as cars were starting from pitlane, there are NO requirements to line up in any order. rbr could allow whoever they wanted to be ahead of the other.

F1 » Caterham to run Stevens at test

Corkey: I think he did a great job. Didn't put a foot wrong all weekend.
i agree, and i said so yesterday. new car, new controls, drs, kers etc etc. he had to learn all these and still was only lapped ONCE in the race. we have had others such as ericcson and chilton, who get lapped twice per race. stevens was only lacking a little racecraft, not watching out for ferdi behind him. but ferdis comments were not really warranted.
