F1 » Williams urges more fan research to develop F1

Seakay: Taz, you are entirely correct with your comment about F1 having become a marketing channel for car manufacturers.
the only car manufacturing company that uses f1 as a marketing channel is mercedes. ferrari have always used f1 as an extension of their car business. macca do not use it as a marketing tool for their few road cars. renault cannot use it as a tool as they have no performance cars to sell. red bull use it as a marketing tool for their brand. williams use it for marketing engineering, lotus have n connection with road cars, etc. the problem is that f1 is used as a brand in its own right, and there lies the problem. the brand has priced itself out of the market.

F1 » Williams urges more fan research to develop F1

rob. you really need to brush up on your history! enzo said that he had NO interest in making cars for customers, but eventually he had to, to keep himself afloat. after he passed away, and fia were in control, things changed and ferrari was funded from private car sales. (fiat). but ferrari does not currently sell cars based on f1. the cars sell purely on their name and historical connections. ferrar do not need f1 to continue selling their cars. on the other hand, merc rely heavily on f1 as they are trying to make their cars more acceptable to younger drivers, and the only way to do this is through their f1 success.

F1 » German Grand Prix officially cancelled

theeagle: Bernie saw to this and to ensure that foreign tracks (outside Europe) can get the races they are so desperate to stage. Only confusing and baffling issue is why Germany of all places (in Europe). Germany bailed out (Banks) Ireland, Greece, Spain etc, why cant they stage their own GP?
germany did not bail out the banks. the ecb and imf LENT money until the countries sorted themselves out.

F1 » Ferrari aiming high, won’t settle for second

Stuey99: Just trying to help you and educate you in F1 mate. If it's a surname it's not spelt all in capital letters. (actually it's a brand used from a surname but the same grammar rules apply) No need to get shirty just because I was trying to help you.
oh dear! ferrari WAS a surname (in fact is still one ) but ferrari in our context is a BRAND name. so it may certainly be capitalised.
