sunny. I doubt that fia would sanction a change of construction as basically all cars would then have to be redesigned. it is not the construction that is the problem, but the compounds which are too affected by the heat. as for merc and red bull being bad designs, have a look at the results. rbr are leading wdc and wcc. and when they on two races, people were moaning that the tyres were giving them an advantage.......! as for merc, they have been all at sea for the last 3+ years. their is a problem with their basic design that cannot be blamed on the tyres. I was only ragging you about Ferrari launch control, but thanks for the info anyway.

f1 rules. well, I do notice on the other site, your comments are better! yes, since the 50s I have always followed Ferrari, even in their lean years. the only glitch I have at present is with one of their drivers, who I just cannot take to. but yes, I love to see the scarlet cars winning. I suppose that if I was to list my favourite downwards it would be... Ferrari Williams/rbr (equal) str (minardi) macca marussia and so on

rob. the tyres last year bear no relationship to the disintegrating tyres of this year. if you remember last year, the only team saying they could not get the tyres to work was merc, and since they started up, they have said the same. but last year, there was a distinct cliff but cars could manage it fairly well, so I had no problems with them. this year is totally different. have a look at all the informed comments from teams, drivers, etc. when tyres are going off after two laps, nobody with an interest in racing would condone that. Pirelli have said what fia mandated, and have also admitted that they failed. even Ferrari had to have four stops to try and preserve the tyres. (Alonso said he was driing at 90% to preserve tyres) to me, that aint racing. if you like it, then you must disagree with Pirelli, fia, ecclestone et al. oh, and by the way, despite what you say, look at who is leading wdc and wcc. not too bad at managing their tyres, are they?

morgan. yes marko and mateschitz may have been quoted about the tyres, but brawn and whitmarsh have also made comments, as have drivers, past champions, pundits, ecclestone etc etc. even Pirelli themselves have said that they it wrong so where is the point in singling one team out for abuse? Pirelli state that red bull have NOT complained to them. do you not believe him? remember last year when Ferrari were saying the tyres didn't suit them? there was not the same amount of vitriol then, was there? McLaren are currently coming in for abuse and I defend them too. if somebody does not like a team for whatever reason, that is their prerogative, but I don't see any need for such abuse and false comments, do you?

f1 rules. so what? isn't that what a forum is for? DEBATE! and why should I not "defend" red bull? the haters of the team keep posting inaccurate comments without trying to ascertain the truth. and I would defend any team against the knockers. I defend Ferrari, McLaren and even merc (at times) now, have you actually got anything to add to the debate?

joe. in case you hadn't noticed, rbr have WON using these tyres. mateschitz is certainly not whining. he is stating pure fact. the current tyres have destroyed any possibility of a RACE. and the cars, to preserve tyres, were lapping slower than gp2 cars on the same day! is that what you want from the pinnacle of motorsport?

john bb. do you really read the statements and other sites? if so, you will note a number of things....rbr never approached Pirelli. rbr have actually won races with these tyres. merc stands to gain the most from the change. macca will also gain. Pirelli admitted that they got it wrong. fia stated that the wear exceeded their requirements etc etc still, its obvious that you don't like rbr and will blame them anyway
