I think that the fact that these quotes came from 'The Sun' newspaper(?) says it all really. Who believes anything they read in there?

(Sorry you lot obviously do)

From Crash.Net 22nd August BMW: No danger in KERS electric shock. "BMW-Sauber has sought to affirm that there was no danger when one of the team's mechanics suffered a high-voltage electric shock whilst the squad tried out the new Kinetic Energy Recovery Systems (KERS) set to be introduced into Formula 1 next year." Sounds like this will be a marvellous system. I repeat my post from then. "We've already have a few pit lane fires caused by fuel hitting a hot engine. and yes I know that the cars are well insulated but I'd be interested to see if anyone has considered the danger of a high voltage 'short circuit'/ 'static spark' when refuelling"

@ Mark The reason that Mclaren requested confirmation from race control that Lewis had complied with the rules was a (vain) attempt to stop this sort of debate..... McL knew that Lewis HAD gained an advantage by crossing the chicane and were just trying to confirm that by giving the place back, albeit for only 5 seconds, THE ADVANTAGE HAD BEEN NEGATED. race control agreed.

Why do people think that the race stewards are inconsistent when dishing out the penalties? They seem to consistently fine/penalise any car that isn't RED and ignore any infringements where a RED car is at fault. Perfectly consistent.

You had me worried Rich-ard... haven''t read anything from you for a couple of days. obviously trying to think of some way of defending a blatantly wrong punishment. No matter... We all know how this goes, either the appeal will be thrown out, put off until after BE and MM have seen how the WDC goes and whether they can afford to give the points back to LH OR the penalty will be judged to be to lenient and McL will be fined and have points docked etc for daring to protest about ANOTHER decision going Ferrari''s way xx

Anybody want to bet on whether Lewis will get a 10 place grid drop for commenting on the stewards decision?

@DazUK whilst I 100% agree with you if Ron did that he''d be fined for bringing the sport into disrepute or similar.... I personally think the best he could do to show up the FIA would be to run the race, then 5 laps from the end pull both cars into the garage. OR win all the races from now and win both championships He isn''t gonna win the appeal if he''s allowed to make it.

246 comments. virtually all of them disagreeing with the stewards decision. makes a change... even the Hammi haters are to embarrassed to put in a negative comment. was anyone REALLY surprised at the decision? we knew the outcome. if I was Ron, i''d appeal the decision, lose the appeal (because he will) and then pull the team out for the rest of the season.....ooops he''ll get fined for that as well. ok then qualify the McL''s and then run them slooooow to the back of the grid

anyone surprised? a legal move by a McLaren. allowed Kimi to re-pass him to ensure it WAS legal, but because it was a Ferrari behind a 25 second penalty... ha!!!! getting a bit pissed off with these decisions now
