I think that the fact that these quotes came from 'The Sun' newspaper(?) says it all really. Who believes anything they read in there?

(Sorry you lot obviously do)

Jenson can 'virtually' drive a race car. Though to be fair the Honda is carp.

@ All Racing Fan -. The planning application still has not been lodged. "Donington Park is set to take a step forward in its preparations for the 2010 British Grand Prix with a planning application for its redevelopment set to be lodged 'within weeks'." Even if this IS 'fast tracked' with local consultations etc (and providing there are no objections) I cannot imagine planning permission being granted much before Christmas and probably not until February/March next year, this leaves approximately 1 year to arrange and complete the works. Hopefully they do manage it, it's the only way we'll have a British GP past 2010

SennaForever. Spot on. Donington has little chance of completing the changes to the circuit in time (With the convoluted planning laws and then actually getting the work done. They have zero chance of getting any changes to the road networks completed. BE knows this, Donington will have to drop out of the calendar for 2010, Bernie will cancel the contract (And be assured there is a penalty clause payable to HIM) the British GP will be no more and BE can sell the race to someone else (Israel???) for megabucks which he has been threatening to do for years. He may be an **** but he not stupid.

(Cont) Must be the set-up then...... Is Ron creeping around the garage in the dead at night with a spanner altering a few settings? NO!! Ron MIGHT favour Lewis, but the bottom line is that Heiki is not quite as good as Lewis YET(Not trying to take anything away from him) Next season maybe things will change. psychologically Heiki may be thinking that he is no good, but it's up to him to prove everyone wrong.

So can somebody please explain exactly what Ron is doing to slow the cars down....I see it on every post.... It's Ron favouring Lewis and that's why Heiki isn't winning. You tell me the equipment is EXACTLY the same - they don't have a wagon load of inferior parts - the strategy is not much different to any other team - 1 car pits the next car pits 2 laps later - that just leaves the driver, the mechanics and the set-up ..... people are saying that Heiki is a better driver than Lewis. so it's not the driver. The mechanics? doing the best they are capable of (presumably)and at least mostly with a wealth of experience.

Sly, I'm sure it's a stupid question, but are you suggesting that McLaren (and presumably other teams) have a wagon load of inferior parts that they take to a Grand Prix just for the '2nd driver'? surely the equipment is always the same, it's all down to how the driver uses it. If the driver says put more wing on/drop tyre pressure by a couple of pound/ alter the brake balance etc then that's what the mechanics do.... admitedly the advice given may be wrong, but again, that's down to the driver to sort that out.

Personally I think that all the drivers have to find 'The Excuse' when they are being beaten by their team mate. NONE of them want to admit it's because the other driver is better or luckier, therefore it has to be the equipment or the back up or the fact that the manager didn't buy them dinner on Thursday or whatever other reason they can find. In the end I would suggest that ALL the drivers in any one team are equal. As the season goes on the emphasis will normally shift towards one driver or the other, (except and unless both of the drivers are relatively equal)
