I think that the fact that these quotes came from 'The Sun' newspaper(?) says it all really. Who believes anything they read in there?

(Sorry you lot obviously do)

Some of my posts don''t seem to be getting through, so I''ll try this one again.... Grumpy, are you sure, I''ve often wondered about last seasons results - and, to stir things up a bit, I will give you something to think about. Was Kimi''s win last year part of an agreement between McLaren and Ferrari, McLaren hand the WDC to Ferrari in exchange for no further punishment being imposed on McLaren.(driver disqualification etc) My reason for thinking this? some of The ''mistakes'' were so elementary and basic that a team with McLaren''s experience shouldn''t have made them.... ie leaving Lewis out ontyres which were so obviously shot we could all see that they should have been changed 2 laps before. Also the way that no criminal charges were forthcoming against McLaren, HEHEHEE !!!!!!! Only a hypothesis

@ Dany Brown. LOL. I''m trying to get away from the conspiracy theory.... I think everyone knows my views lol. I was just trying to show Gordo that Mclaren Winning would prove nothing. Anyway, done to death or not, I have to say that the FIA don''t do much to try to dispel the rumours.... to re-hash old stuff (again) at Spa Lewis''s penalty came 2hrs after the race finished. this to investigate an incident which is normally resolved within 3 or 4 laps, why the delay? the drivers could have been told before they reached the podium. Things like this just fuel the fire.

Sorry for my rambling Rob. I try to be as succinct as possible but sometimes feel the need to explain myself in thre or four different ways as others cannot grasp my meaning - probably just my English not being as accurate as I would like it to be.....- and yes I am English.

Gordo, it proves nothing. if McLaren win it MAY just prove that even the FIA know there are limits to what they can do to assist the red machine. It COULD prove there''s no assistance being given or it MAY just prove that McLaren are too good no matter what.

Kimi doesn''t need a miracle, All he needs is a bit of consistency. He always starts and finishes the season extremely well, in the middle he just seems to lose all interest.

To be honest I wasn''t going to bother posting a reply to Joes comment about the FIA changing the rules in the 2003/2004 season to stop Ferrari winning every year, BUT.... as I recall, the rules were changed precisely BECAUSE there was a theory (hypothesis if you prefer) even then that the FIA were favouring the red cars, whilst my memory may be deceiving me, attendance at GPs was falling, viewing figures were dropping and the revenue was disappearing, mainly because of this theory. Something had to be done to try to show impartiality. Even you must admit that it still didn''t stop Schumi.

To all, My comment on the conspiracy theory was a facetious reply to a comment made by another poster. I had no intention of turning this into a McLaren versus Ferrari argument nor did I expect or want to bring up ''spygate'' again. My comment regarding 9/11 was a response to someone else to show that (IMHO) circumstantial evidence should not be ignored when forming an opinion. (If anyone is interested google ''loose change'' and watch that video). I can''t recall mentioning JFK at all, but for the sake of accuracy, there was a ''grassy knoll'' - whether there was a gunman there I have no idea - and no iterest. The ''Spygate'' saga and the FIA''s favouritism or otherwise has been done to death. You have your views, I''ll believe what I like. Can we just leave it at that please.

@ Sunny. no hard feelings and no offence taken. I understand your views, but that doesn''t change my opinion. ... but I will try not to labour the point so much. @ Barry.... and IF McLaren or any other team, HAD ignored the weather forecast, put the inters on and it had then started raining what would we be saying then? They have to go with the info they have got. Now JOE. It''s a theory and as such needs no proof. I believe that the moon landings were filmed in a studio, that the American government engineered 9/11. There''s no proof but enough circumstantial evidence to raise doubts in my mind. Conspiracy THEORY is, I suppose, the wrong wording. It''s a HYPOTHESIS rather than a theory.

Sunny, I think we are talking at cross purposes. I am agreeing with you to a certain point. Putting it simply: 1) Lewis is agreat driver in the wet 2)The McLaren is the best car in the wet. 3)In F1 Lewis has only driven a McLaren 4) no-one can say what he would be like with another drive. So yes possibly it is just down to the technical specs of the car and not the driver, but Heikki in the same car did not drive as well. Maybe it''s just that Lewis is a better driver than heikki.
