Casey is exceptionally quick but, like everyone else on the track, he falls short of the racecraft of Valentino. I've never seen anyone else like him. Perfect strategy and perfect execution. Incredible.

"eeerrrmmm, don't you already have a football team, the wallaby-oos, soccer-roos or something??? from what i remember england won the last game between the two." Your memory is being too kind to your ego there. The score was ENG 1 - AUS 3.

Hayden has an attitude and work ethic that put most of us to shame. He probably won't win another WC, but he's already won one more than all of us here combined. Best of luck this weekend, Nicky.

Pedrosa's Honda was the machine to be on in Stoner's 250 year. Honda took 4 out of the top 5 positions with the exception being Stoner (2nd on the Aprilia).

By request, Rossi ran the same tyres as Stoner and won the championship. Somehow, though, the conspiracy theorists believe that the rule was to benefit Ducati. It's clear to rational people that Michelin were struggling and Dorna wanted more bikes to be like Rossi's and be competitive against the Bridgestone teams. The only way the could see that happening was to put them all on the same rubber. And then there's this notion that Stoner was lying about the seriousness of his wrist injust. So he had a career-threatening operation precisely why? The excuses some people use to deny giving Stoner credit are just getting more desperate and bizarre.

Well done, Casey. It would have been a much more interesting race if Lorenzo didn't make the pass on Rossi early on, but that's not Stoner's fault.

So the desert is artificial, too? Is anything real over there? It seems like such a fatal flaw in the concept of a night race. Maybe the sheiks can put a roof over the track for next season. First indoor race? Either that, or move the time (and perhaps location). This should never happen again. So disappointing.

They seemed to find half a second in the warm up each race last year, so I'd be surprised if Casey had the pace to blast off into the distance. I'd put money on tyres lasting better on the Yam, too. Should make for an interesting race.

Oh, I wasn't trying to imply that their teamwork will overcome the problems. I phrased that poorly. I was genuinely asking for your feedback on their teamwork, RawDawg, because, as far as I can tell, you're probably the most sensible/knowledgeable poster on these forums. I take your point that it's no substitute for Nicky having time to set up proper, though.

That's a fair point, RawDawg. What do you think the odds are that Casey and Nicky will swap data/settings and generally help each other out this year?

Ah well. Not the ideal start, but obviously better today than Sunday. C'mon Nicky! I'll be happy each race you finish above the Hondas.
