Casey is exceptionally quick but, like everyone else on the track, he falls short of the racecraft of Valentino. I've never seen anyone else like him. Perfect strategy and perfect execution. Incredible.

If we are going to be fair, Jimmy (which is unusual around this place), it did look very much like the Ducati was doing its best to throw Casey off. The way Stoner has to ride the damn thing (and the positions of the other Ducati riders) is a bit of an sad indictment on its handling.

Unbelievable pace from Pedrosa. A very good race from him (again) and the Rossi/Stoner battle was fantastic entertainment. Very suprising to see the Yam pass the Duke down the straight when it didn''t seem to be able to keep pace in the slipstream.

Good tip, Jack. In Mozilla (Firefox) you can also install Adblock Plus (you can google installation instructions) to block all the ads. I prefer to not block ads on sites I regularly use, but when they get in the way of you using the site, they've got to go.

Bautista will be filthy with that error in judgement. He had done enough in the first part of the lap that he didn't need to take a defensive line there. Love a repeat of that race in the 800s. C'mon Stoner!!!

Idris, the Michelins have consistently been the better qualifying rubber this year. While the racing compounds have been much closer in performance this year, I still believe the Bridgestones will win out as the conditions get warmer (based on last year and last race). We'll see though. DP looks like he may have setup issues. Looks like it could turn out to be a classic duel between Rossi and Stoner. Fingers crossed.

That might happen, Rob, but I think the lack of straight line speed is going to hurt all Yamahas in the race.

Hahaha. Welcome back, Gina. You had me worried there last week when you complimented Casey. It is an impressive pole from Stoner when all other Bridgestone and Ducati riders are propping up the timesheets. It takes a very special person to not give him any credit for that one. I'm going to stick with my pre-practice predictions of a Stoner, Pedrosa, and Rossi finish, but maybe Hayden can take third.

Timbo, most media are parochial. Particularly the tabloid media. The BBC is best compared to the Australian ABC (which was modelled after the BBC) and both are very respectable. I was over my Pommy mate's place this morning watching Euro, and he's telling me about the British and German media having a dig at each other over who has the worst tourists. *groan*. At our recent qualifier against Iraq, the crowd clapped after the Iraq national anthem which is less parochial than the constant booing I see from the public of other nations. But yes, the tabloid media in Australia (7, 9, 10, etc.) are borish as are some of the citizens, but that's not unique to Australia.

Da Rock, welcome to the forums and good on you for registering. Hopefully, the number of us registered users will grow and decrease the amount of mindless wind-ups. Pedrosa is going to be strong here. There was very little difference on the straight between him and Stoner at Mugello, and he loves the track. He might be right if he can get a decent lead, but I think the Michelin's won't be doing him an favours at the end. The longer straight should help Stoner and Pedrosa stay with Rossi and Lorenzo who may have to do extra work on the corners to keep up. My pre-FP1 predictions (subject to change) are. 1. Stoner 2. Pedrosa 3. Rossi
