Rus the Bus,

Dennis has confirmed that the team ADVISED LH OF THE RED LIGHT.

He SHOULD have seen the light.
He SHOULD have seen TWO large-as-life F1 cars stopped at the end of the lane.
He SHOULD have listened when his team told him the light was red.
and...
He SHOULD have offered a genuine apology the way KR did to Sutil in Monaco.

But I guess if you call it the way it is on this board, you get accused of being a hater.

jbishop has it dead on! JS changes directions faster than Pacman. He sees which way the wind is blowing and sets sail up accordingly. The guy has no convictions, and is trying to get face time in his sunset years. F1 gains nothing from this idiot, and in my opinion, he has no business being anywhere near a racetrack. Stupid git. I'm no Hamilton fan, but JS just annoys me. The guy may have been a great racer once upon a time, but if he keeps this up people are going to start thinking he's senile very, very soon. Probably the only thing Mosley ever got right was when he called JS a "certified halfwit".

I'm not so sure about doing away with pitstops. I know that it might promote better on-track overtaking, but it's got too many negatives. 1. Changed car dynamics because tanks will have to now be at least 3x bigger. 2. Tyres. One set per race? Not a good idea... 3. Viewer action: Theres a sense of excitement and urgency during the pitstop windows, and I dont want to stop seeing that. 4. In a race like Monaco or Hungary, the pitstops are probably the only place you CAN overtake! I think this rule is pretty stupid. Who said that it was unsafe to pit with the SC out? Did we hear the teams ever complain? The drivers? The pit crews? Why create a rule for a non-issue???

F1rules, you need to be a LOT less condescending in your posts. You have an opinion and that's fine. You may interpret certain events to suit your claim, and thats also fine. Other posters on this board may interpret those events differently, and may have followed a logical sequence of thought to arrive at their own conclusions. Asking them repeatedly to go back and study F1 is pointless, condescending, and serves no purpose. Ive been watching F1 since I was 7 or 8, and never, ever missed a race. So don't ask ME to go back study F1, because I think that it's YOU who needs a refresher course. It seems that we come from two very different schools of thought. Lets leave it at that. Cheers.

I really, really, hope he stays. F1 needs Kimi. All the other drivers are groomed PR machines. I remember when Kimi was with Mclaren - Brundle caught him during one of his gridwalks and asked him why he missed the opening ceremonies featuring Pele. "I was taking a $h|t", the guy replies, on live TV going out to millions of viewers worldwide. The guy is talented, fast, a straight shooter, and speaks when he needs to. He's got the talent to win. I hope Ferrari can keep giving him the car he'll need to back up the talent.

George, welcome. Nice to have you signed on. But you're wrong on this one... the ferraris were on their 1st race with these engines, they need the same motors for Istanbul in a fortnight. I think they had the measure of the Mclarens - they knew exactly how fast the Maccas were and stayed just tantalizingly out of reach of Lewis. Keep in mind that the Ferrari powerplants have not had the best opening season - multiple engines have let go in the Ferraris and Toro Rossos, and I think they were just taking it as easy as possible to protect the motors. It's like Stirling Moss said - "always win by the smallest margin possible" (I'm paraphrasing).

...contd. "RD chose to demonstrate his Britishness and side with him in battling Alonso on the track." So according to you, RD payed millions to hire FA, and then proceeded to sideline his own driver from the start because of nationality differences??? RD made his infamous "we were racing Alonso" comment in China, WAY AFTER the whole spygate saga, after FA blackmailed him for #1 status. I think its YOU who needs to get YOUR facts straights. Also, whether Mika was a 2xWDC because he had the best car or not is not the point. The point was being a 2xWDC does not EARN you the right to be #1 in the team..... you conveniently ignored this reasoning. Big surprise.

F1rules, you still persist that FA was somehow the root cause of Schu's retirement, and I could not disagree with you more. You're claiming that if FA had not one back to back titles in 05+06 MS would have continued to race? That's a ludicrous supposition. And frankly, it's your disingenuous comments that bear no relation to the facts. You naively claim that FA won in 05+06 with an inferior car, and I beg to disagree. The Regie had bulletproof reliability, rocketed out of the corners, had some of the best straight line speed, and had launch control that would enable them to make up to 5 places at the start sometimes. How is that an inferior car? ...contd

Ed, I originally liked JPM. He was quick, a straight talker, and didn't seem intimidated by anyone or anything. But where was the consistency? In F1, you have to be quick AND consistent, merely having one of those qualities isn't enough. JPM was capable of the odd burst of speed and ba||sy overtaking maneuver, but that's about it. He couldn't sustain it. I got the impression that he was one of those guys who would make a move that depended too heavily on the other guy getting out of the way. Very rarely did he make a CLEAN move that didn't need evasive maneuvers by the guy he was making the move on. And again - consistency. He just didn't have it.

Good grief.. what a comical boneheaded blunder to make. Whoever decided to bring Trulli in instead of Glock must have been given a SERIOUS rap on the knuckles afterward. And on a separate note, it''s not looking good for DC. I defended him in an eralier post after Bahrain, but now the stats are stacking up against him. Some of his accidents have been unfortunate and circumstantial, but where there''s smoke, there''s fire...

Mike... my mistake. Ive got the flu, so Ive got this antibiotic-induced fog around my synapses. I might have been thinking about Bahrain, where I remember Kimi being held up by one of the Force India's (Sutil) or one of the SAs (Davidson)... could be wrong about this as well. It's all a little hazy right now. ..
