1003 agree.
30 disagree.
That's right... I did. Good of you to acknowledge that fact.
Anyone who can pull over 2 seconds a lap on world class opposition (in the wet) round a circuit he's never seen before, let alone ridden in the wet before can only be considered world class. Sorry but that's a fact. If it had stayed wet, he'd have whooped the lot of em by over 30 seconds, based on his lead at the point he came in for slicks... And that's not world class ? Like f**k its' not...

Frustrated Byrne 'looking on bright side'
2 disagree.
Look, to be perfectly honest I'm bored rigid reading your one-dimensional attacks on someone who I would imagine, quite frankly, wouldn't even employ you to wipe the flies from his visor. Lets just agree to disagree shall we ? You think he's not world-class, well that's up to you. I say he is 'cos he's in the world championship and working directly for arguably the best and most successful manufacturer the sport has witnessed. His results are 'largely' team & machinery based (in my opinion). Maybe if you are such a huge expert on the sport, you should consider reaching out to the struggling Sterilgarda squad and offering them the benefit of your vast experience rather than writing

I don't hear anyone shouting about in any sense. You can't just single Byrne out and say his win last year was down to the bike and the team. No way.

Dale, so if it was all down to GSE's ability (which suggests a greater level of ability than HMPlant Honda or Rizla Suzuki, which I hardly think is even measurable, if true at all) and the 1098R's huge advantage, then why wasn't Camier 2nd behind Byrne every race, with Rutter and the other 1098's behind him ? And why wasn't Fabrizio following Bayliss home every weekend with Biaggi, Xaus and Smrz bringing up the rear ? Camier is no better developed as a rider and doesn't know the UK circuits any better this year than he did last year, likewise Xaus or Biaggi on last years Sterilgada Dukes. If the 1098R had such an advantage then that puts Bayliss's third world title well in the shade, which..

overtime doing nightshifts on the London Underground to fund his sons racing aspirations. And you can't exactly say he hasn't repaid his support with 2 British titles to his name (regardless of what circumstances any moaning **** claims they were won under - you can only beat what's on track with you at the time, on the bike you're given at the time). So what exactly makes Byrne a 'clown' only worthy of demotion to AMA or BSB any more than Haslam ? 6 years age difference also doesn't come into it - Haslam has been around top flight bike racing and big money since he was old enough to walk. Oh, and I'm not labelling Haslam a 'clown' either by the way. I have him in my MCN fantasy team...

and am the first to admit he is doing well this season. Still not a proven WSBK talent yet tho, if you ask me and lucky he still keeps getting opportunities. I suspect it's sh1t or bust for him this season though with no actual titles to his name in almost 20 years of racing, and no race wins at world level either.

Fanboy, explain to me why Byrne is any more of a 'clown' as you care to put it than the likes of say Haslam, who apart from having got on the podium a few times so far this season and maybe once or twice 5 years ago on a 999 Duke, hasn't even won a national title on any class of bike, yet he has been in almost every class of bike racing there is, most with decent teams (like GSE, HMPlant, Renegade etc..) has had quality team mates like Haga, Lavilla to learn from, let alone an old man who is a legend in the sport and almost exclusive access to Donnington, bikes galore whenever he wants it. Byrne on the other hand came from f**k all. His old man (god rest his sole) I believe used to work...

tenths (and sometimes not even that) slower than riders who have all the factory advantages a rider could want for, and who have been touring most of the WSBK circuits for a number of years - not visiting many of them for the first time. Has he done you a personal disservice that you're keeping from us all ? Or are you just one of those people who isn't happy unless they're having a dig at someone whom they couldn't possibly even begin to emulate in a million years...? Please bore us with some more drivel...

20 odd years, the majority of whom have never even won a race, let alone as a wildcard and let alone two domestic championships, but who have happily ciruculated in the mid field of WSBK for several years without incurring the verbal wrath of whingers like you. I haven't seen anyone calling for the likes of Laconi, Muggeridge, Kagayama or any of the other 'also-rans' to be booted out to BSB or AMA to be 'found out'. Maybe you could enlighten us all as to what exactly and specifically it is about Shane Byrne and his motorcycling abilities and achievements that bothers you to the extent that you have to slag the guy off at every given opportunity when at the worst he's only a handful of...
