F1 » Hamilton: Mercedes has ‘a lot of work to do’

To get back to the actual question of the thread I find myself agreeing with Sunny... Merc have made great steps over the winter but it is always that last 5% that is the hardest to get and that makes the difference between podiums and winning races. I do feel that although they have improved they still seem to suffer the same tire deg issues they have had for the past few years. This is what they need to resolve imho because todays F1 isn't about the fastest driver, it's more about the driver that can make his tires last best and the car design plays a huge part in that equation.

F1 » Hamilton continues to set Interlagos pace

honestly, i would say the top 3 drivers in f1 today in no particular order are Alonso, Hamilton and Vettel. people can argue the order all they like but the only way you could ever prove it definitively is for them to be in the same car and that's never going to happen. i look forward to a great wet race and i hope hamilton can win his final race driving for maclaren. as for the wdc i don't really care who wins it but i think on performance with the equipment provided Alonso deserves it more than Vettel but i have a feeling Alonso is going to be disappointed.

F1 » F1 POLL: Was Schumacher's return a success or failure?

i have a lot of time for msc but i think his comeback was an error of judgement on his part. i can't see any upside to his return... 1) did he manage to win a race? - no (not yet anyway) 2) has the team progressed since the transition from brawn to mgp? - in my opinion no, in fact they've gone backwards because brawn was a winning team (an yes i know it was all due to the ddd) 3) has he enhanced his reputation by coming back? - no, in some ways i think hes tarnished it. so what was the upside? i don't see it but i wish him all the best in whatever he decides to do next.

F1 » Lauda to take up Mercedes role

with the past, less than complimentary comments, by lauda with regards to hamilton the interaction between the two will be really interesting and a possible train-wreck waiting to happen. also as previous posters have said lauda's past record in an administrative role is far from good. this is not the kind of change i think merc need to make to improve their performance.
