Zeitung - I see your not letting the truth get in the way of your theory!

Glock was on slicks FACT
Trulli was on slicks FACT
Hamilton on intermediates FACT
it was raining FACT
in the first sector alone (a short sector) Vettel and Hamilton were 5 secs faster than Glock FACT
They took even more time in the middle sector (twice as long in time in the dry and more twisty) FACT
Hamilton passed him into last real turn on the circuit FACT
from that point onwards Glock lost the best part of a further 6 seconds FACT
you can see him with no grip out of the corner on tv FACT
Glocks lap time was actually faster than that of Trullis in same car on same tyres FACT!

now go paint by numbers or something!

Brilliant from Dovi... the guy is talented and he handled the conditions the best. Obviously a very strong ride from all the podium finishers. Great for Rossi to get back a few places after his crash, always tough to lead a race in these conditions which also shows again how well Dovi did. Edwards was a demon once he got going! Brave call from the Ducati boys... the wrong one obvioulsy but fair play to them for having the cojones to have a gamble. If it had worked we would have been saying how brilliant they were! Although, anyone in motorsport knows you 9 times out of 10 follow your closest competitors at this stage in the season not go the polar opposite!

Holes / Robert... Good points. I think if anyone on the grid has the self confidence to walk away from a championship winning bike and team it is Jorge. I think Rossi has his eye on Ago's records now! Dani to Yamaha... interesting but bear in mind Dani's huge problem he brings with him - Alberto Puig! That is probably enough to put the stoppers on a deal with most teams! At the end of the day we will just have to wait and see, I personally believe it would be the wrong move but on the other hand, as I mentioned, if anyone can do it then Jorge is the man.

The guy is incredibly fast, very talented and will be a world champion... however, I doubt he will be a world champ if he goes to Honda! Hes onto a winner at Yamaha, hopefully he stays there.

With regards to Lewis and being disliked, he kind of reminds me of Casey Stoner in motogp. Exceptionally fast but not too great in front of the cameras and can put his foot in it! There is no doubt he can drive very fast, but going from cars to bikes is harder then bikes to cars. Bike riders have a far better understanding and feel for grip. purely because of what they do. Schumacher did very well on a bike and he got to about 4 seconds from a competetive time when he first tested. Rossi however was closer than that (1.7 i think?) and has also been very competetive in rally cars (beating Colin McRae!) If Lewis wants to try it then good luck but i think he will struggle.

I think Colin Edwards' phrase from 2007 to describe the yamaha was "We have the fastest bike in a circle!" The Yamaha was never a bad bike, in fact I dont think it was ever far from the Ducati except in outright speed where in 2007 Ducati just built a better engine than everyone else! The Ducati/BS combo was a better combo than Michelin/Yamaha plus the fact that Stoner, like him or not, is very fast on a bike. 2008 I would say the bikes were very different but probably pretty equal over a lap. This year the balance has slightly tipped in the yamaha direction as they are close on power yet they have kept their ridability, but it is still close. Bring on donnington and nother close race :)

Lady46 - Rossi joined on the Nastro Azzuro backed Honda. This wasnt officially a factory ride but did have equivelant of factory support. The rule regarding not riding for a factory team in your first year was introduced for this season onwards. I wonder if we will get an end of race celebration to highlight the fuss made around this weak effort to put a downer on Rossi's achievments once again?!

Bob, I agree that rules are rules and that a line needs to be drawn somewhere. However, on the basis that the rule in reference is that no changes may be made to the tyre then you could go as far to say everyone should be disqualifed. How many riders bring the bike back with the same amount of material on the tyre as there was when they were allocated it? At the end of the day the best rider on the day won and I think it shows peoples bias that they are picking up on such a trivial issue. I, as a Rossi fan, actually am looking forward to Stoner being back on form as the racing between VR, JL and CS will be be amongst some of the most memorable ever, I am sure of it.

I agree Jorge is incredibly fast, probably on outright 1 lap speed, faster than Stoner. Rossi is still the best and he keeps demonstrating it. The thing i like about Jorge (and he is similar to Stoner here) is he will push and push as hard as possible which, for fans is great because you get to see just what Rossi has left in the tank (Laguna Seca 2008 for example!). I think Jorge has learned the racecraft faster than Stoner, but as riders they are quite similar and when Rossi retires it will be these 2 who are setting the pace. Dani must be kicking himself! He had Rossi to prevent him from a title early on and now he has Lorenzo and Stoner to look forward to deal with as well!
