Zeitung - I see your not letting the truth get in the way of your theory!

Glock was on slicks FACT
Trulli was on slicks FACT
Hamilton on intermediates FACT
it was raining FACT
in the first sector alone (a short sector) Vettel and Hamilton were 5 secs faster than Glock FACT
They took even more time in the middle sector (twice as long in time in the dry and more twisty) FACT
Hamilton passed him into last real turn on the circuit FACT
from that point onwards Glock lost the best part of a further 6 seconds FACT
you can see him with no grip out of the corner on tv FACT
Glocks lap time was actually faster than that of Trullis in same car on same tyres FACT!

now go paint by numbers or something!

I dont think you can question Toni's speed... his consistency leaves a little room for improvement! I hope to see him fighting hard this year! havent had a race to match 2006 Estoril yet, i know you cant judge a rider on one race but where there sToni theres generally excitment.

Monster - I dont think he can afford to back off to be honest. Maybe chill out a bit more with the testing? The bike looks very good and Hayden is great at banging the laps out and gathering lots of data. Still, im sure Casey knows more about his capabilities at the moment than any of us. Totally agree with you regarding losing Stoner. Speaking as a Rossi fan it would be a shame for Stoner to be sidelined so early on!

canuck - I agree mate. With so much depth in the field a bad day could easily see a rider drop out of the top 10 whereas for example last season a bad race for Rossi or Stoner in motogp and they would likely still make the podium, i.e stoner falling at laguna and getting back on still in 2nd!

I think Spies and Sykes definitely have the tools for the job in both the bike and their speed! cant wait for the season to start :)

Equilibirum, i agree but i dont think its unrealistic at all to expect some of the non-factory lads to get a podium finish or 2 during the season. Look what dovi managed throughout 2008 on a bike that was probably the furthest from a factory machine on the grid! i think their best chances to make an impact in the results are early in the season as once the top boys get a couple of improvements under them and are fully up to speed with new(ish!) tyres they will be very hard to catch as you mentioned.

I think the satellite teams will get a similar deal to last year, whereby they started the season on the same machinary but they had to wait for developments to filter down. Not using it as an excuse just what i believe will happen. Still, i think JT will perform better than last season, hoping to see him on the podium this season and be top none factory rider! :)

My mistake... i obviously underestimated his ability to get a bit of air time for his sponsors! :)

MonktonGaz - I think the reduction in track time is down to more than just fuel. Think how many extra sets of tyres they are not using, less time on the engines that will have to last longer, fuel (as you have already mentioned), potential crash damage i.e less time for randy de puniet to drop it! It will hurt the people travelling to see the races, i am looking to ride to mugello to watch the whole weekend which included getting there for friday practice. The BBC were never going to show it anyway so its not such a loss in that area i guess.

Good to see them go... i dont think we will lose the last 2 mins of banzai brain out laps, which is brilliant to watch!, but i think we will also end up with faster race times due to the guys spending the whole time in race tyres and set up. May even mean less people having setup or tyre issues that mean they drop back.
