I don't think Colin is the brightest bulb in the room. His comment about him being a right-wing extremist pretty well rips it for me. Just what the world needs more of, an extremist with a .50 caliber.

Hey Oops, do you remember Rossi's first race or Stoner's?

Although it would be nice to see Spies place in the top five Sunday, I don't think a bottom five pace finish would be indicative of his capabilities. Ben has the mental drive and physical talent to be at the front, whatever he races. He'll be a MotoGP champ before his career is finished.

For any number of reasons F1 looks to be an unsustainable model. The recessionary economy is certainly one of those reasons. Not to overlook Bernie's greed. If he had made some monetary concessions to the teams it would of made a difference. For F1 to continue to exist there need to be some very drastic changes. I fear we will see less and less of cutting edge technology. The ancillary expenditures of most teams have also become ridiculous, such as the so called team motorhomes. These things takes days to erect and dismantle, not to mention shipping costs. The team owners need to get a grip. The days of sponsors tripping over themselves to give teams money are over, for now anyway.

The most disappointing thing about this weekend's WSBK at Portimao is either Spies or Haga will not win the championship. Both very deserving. If I were to choose, my pick would be Haga. Only for the fact he's been around so long. On second thought, Spies is more deserving for his unbelievable outstanding rookie performance. Oh well, guess I'll just have to wait for Sunday.

No doubt, when Schumacher sees Jenson Button as WDC he sees another championship as easy pickings. I'll predict he will be driving F1 in 2010. Maybe not a Ferrari though.

Being a motorsports fan for some fifty-five years and raised in the U.S., my early race viewing was strictly ovals. Three drops inside a one foot circle and the race was stopped. When first I saw F1 race in the rain I was totally in awe. I'm somewhat disappointed to see Webber and Vettel complaining.

It's become apparent F1 is made up of a pretty corrupt lot. I thought with the new entries things might be cleaned up. Silly me!

What do you reckon it cost to fund a front line Moto GP team? I would not attempt it if I were worth less than $500 million. I doubt Rossi is worth a tenth of that.
