I don't think Colin is the brightest bulb in the room. His comment about him being a right-wing extremist pretty well rips it for me. Just what the world needs more of, an extremist with a .50 caliber.

"bourdais has been lucky. he underperformed last year but he is still a better choice than sato. lets hope that bourdais can live up to expectations, otherwise it will be bye-bye!" rich ard As well it should be. I happen to think Bourdais is an extremely talented driver. This season will tell. If he doesn't perform up to expectations, no doubt he's gone.

Rob, If you are suggesting that F1 teams receive a bigger share of the pie, I agree. As for equal shares, no. Currently, teams are paid on some per point basis. I would imagine it's quite small once Bernie fills his pockets. Speaking of small, I was talking to Slavica last night and she said.....

cn, You may disagree, I'm only speculating. I think you have to consider a lot more than personnel when it comes to these so called motorhomes. We are talking about the rolling team tech center in the paddock on race weekend. The original cost of these things would far exceed $10 million, each. Amortized over no more than five years, with personnel and transportation costs, you might easily end up with a $10 million dollar per season expenditure. Whatever it costs, it's a completely unnecessary expenditure.

Rob, I don't think a tail ender should receive the same revenue as a front runner. That's what equal revenue sharing would do. When I hear Max and others with their ****-in-the-hat cost cutting proposals, I laugh. If they were serious they'd freeze the car and engine rules. If there are to be any cost reductions I would propose eliminating wind tunnels. The cost for building and running these things is enormous. It appears that CFD is getting out of hand, as well. Off the top of my head, those are two areas that would provide substantial savings. Forget about an engine lasting multiple races. This only makes for more engine development which costs plenty.

Just correcting some incorrect info. As for ideas about revenue sharing, I don't agree with it. As for cutting team expenses, the team principals are the biggest problem. Why do they have multi-million dollar "motorhomes"? McLaren's takes days to erect. I'd venture to say if F1 teams did away with them, they'd save at least $10 million over a season. F1 is all about competition, even to who has the grandest paddock display. The FIA charges an entry fee of 309,000 euros. They had been considering 740,000 euros for 2009. How's that for a "cost cutting idea"? My point, no one is serious about cost cutting.

"Why not set F1 and MotoGP like US sports franchises. All teams share equally is all revenues." That's only true for the NFL. MLB does not share revenue and the NBA has a percentage of revenue sharing.

Unfortunately, sponsorship for a US team will be hard to come by. I think most companies are going to be tighter than a bull's ass during fly time.

Wealthy people don't sell their houses for the reason Gascoyne proclaims. Cash strapped people do just that.
