F1 » Bahrain Grand Prix – Race results

One of the best F1 races I've seen in years! The top ten were all competitive. Obviously, Mercedes has the mark of everyone, for now. Perez was a surprise, maybe it's all starting to click for him. Riccardo is a racer's racer. Look for big things to come from him. Great to see a resurgence of Williams. Montezemolo looked ill. Is Ron Dennis in hiding?

F1 » Newey critical of new F1

I'm neither agreeing or disagreeing with the comments as to the degradation of F1. What I do find interesting is many of last year's comments were that the Vettel and Red Bull dominance were making F1 boring. Now that we may have a new king of the hill complaints have shifted to changes, mainly of the new engines.

F1 » Promoters will walk away over sound ‘disgrace’

I remember we were told that the banning of tobacco advertising was going to kill F1. Now were are told lack of high pitched noise will kill F1. What those who say this are forgetting is the fan demographic is changing. The 20-40 year old fan today is a completely different animal then the fan from the same age group 20, even 10 years ago. The 20-30 year old fan hates tobacco smoke, knows every nuance of a smart phone, doesn't even own a single music CD and thinks air and water are the most important natural resources. Bernie and Ron Walker don't have a clue. Todt is probably the more progressive of the group. Anachronism is not a virtue in racing, especially F1. 'A computer without a floppy drive will never sell!'

runnah:
Jim Clausen: Another thought about the noise issue: Those of you old enough will remember Jackie Stewart and his refusal to race unless the tracks were made safer. There were those who were safety detractors. Said fans would not come to a race if it was too safe.
Worst comparison ever. People dying is just slightly different than loud exhausts.
You completely missed the point. Point being changes affecting attendance.
