F1 » Promoters will walk away over sound ‘disgrace’

I remember we were told that the banning of tobacco advertising was going to kill F1. Now were are told lack of high pitched noise will kill F1. What those who say this are forgetting is the fan demographic is changing. The 20-40 year old fan today is a completely different animal then the fan from the same age group 20, even 10 years ago. The 20-30 year old fan hates tobacco smoke, knows every nuance of a smart phone, doesn't even own a single music CD and thinks air and water are the most important natural resources. Bernie and Ron Walker don't have a clue. Todt is probably the more progressive of the group. Anachronism is not a virtue in racing, especially F1. 'A computer without a floppy drive will never sell!'

MotoGP » Crutchlow: 'Lorenzo style' doesn't work on Ducati

Cubikrube: If racers didn't copy each others styles (or parts thereof) then only one person would have ever got their knee down, elbow down etc etc in history. Cal will still be riding like Cal but he'll be learning from others as to how to ride a certain bike better. Bloody hard task on that Duke as other riders have shown but he's made his choice so let's just hope it works out
I think what some are saying is that Cal should aspire to be more like the one who first put a knee down, rather than copying the one who first put a knee down.

MotoGP » Qatar MotoGP - Free Practice (3) Results

Invariably, what happens when a racing series tries to limit spending those with the money spend even more. I definitely believe Honda and Yamaha factory teams will spend like no tomorrow if the open class bikes are faster than the factory bikes. Money is a large part of racing. Always has been. Cars, motorcycles, sailboats, horses, bicycles, soap box racers, whatever. Every effort I've seen to limit spending has had the opposite effect.
