F1 » Five F1 champions who wouldn’t have made their debuts

Vipera: Raikkonen is from Finland, not from Iceland!!!! His nickname is Iceman, but he is Finnish!
Makes one wonder just how much do some of the Crashnet contributors actually know of what they write. I've followed F1 since the early 60's and I don't recall any F1 driver from Iceland. Possibly, Chris Medland was out the day geography was taught.

F1 » Haas F1 set to use Marussia factory as base

"Haas declared that he is interested in acquiring (bidding) for the data and design of the 2015 Marussia car." That'll be sure to put the Haas entry up front. What Gene Haas is actually trying to accomplish remains a mystery, to me anyway. I do keep in mind this is the same Gene Haas that spent two years in a federal penitentiary for fraud.

F1 » OFFICIAL: McLaren names Alonso, Button as 2015 F1 line-up

Somehow, I feel Ron Dennis was heavily influenced, maybe even vetoed, by the other McLaren shareholders when it came to driver(s) choice. If the Alonso/Button pairing is not to Ron's liking we will see some strange happenings at McLaren that will be detrimental to driver performance. As for Button versus Alonso, Button can probably match Alonso on outright speed, but when grim determination comes into play I feel that Button comes up short when compared to Alonso.

F1 » Kate Walker: Dog eat dog eat F1

If you are a racing fan with less than a six figure income, F1 (read Bernie Ecclestone) wants nothing to do with you. F1 has become a club by the rich-for the rich. The money side of F1 has far outstripped the racing side. It's become a spectacle for the ostentatious to be seen and display their wealth. This includes the sponsors. I wonder how many of the celebrities seen at F1 races actually pay to attend. I would not doubt that even the travel and hotel costs are paid, either directly by F1/Bernie or a sponsor, for some of the celebs. F1 today is a far cry from the days of Frank Williams kiting checks to race, Ken Tyrrell building a car in a woodshed, racers forming their own teams, ala Brabham, McLaren, Gurney, to name a few. All of the aforementioned produced winners, btw. Thankfully, I was lucky enough to attend F1 races in those days. A racer who was daft enough to start his own team today would quickly be parted of his money.

F1 » Ferrari appoints new F1 team principal

Nigel Tasker: Ferrari are obviously in a mess, it seems to me they don't know what to do. Get ross Braun back and quickly if you want to get some proper F1 organization back in Ferrari they need it.
I totally agree. Give Ross the keys and get the hell out of the way. Both of which Ferrari will never do. Next year, I predict, Ferrari will have difficulty scoring championship points.
