Lucifer, to my mind the way the race unfolds tomorrow is entirely dependent on the start. So far a lot of tumbles have taken place, and most riders are experiencing rear wheel slides and, at least with Nicky, power slides. Mistakes will be made. Casey will wring the neck of the Duke, If he is truly fit he will win. Common sense say's that Rossi only needs to finish in front of George, but Valentino likes a fight, so we will see. On paper the Spanish tots are too far behind on time to make a difference, but I doubt that. If they get too engrossed Colin might beat the pair of them. I don't see Hopper influencing it at all

I should really get behind Jimmy, being a fellow Englishman, but I never expected him to get to the top and he didn't. So he doesn't offer much to comment on (unless you are a hate poster of course) Colin is a bit different. He never rose to the top, but, it is unwise to rule him out in any race. Personally I think James should have had one more year, I don't see a positive in going back to WSBK, ex GP riders seldom do well.

If we take Qually times as a yardstick, then all Rossi needs to achieve is to sit on Stoners tail and see if he can race properly for full race distance. With Lorenzo and Pedrosa, both tough little s0ds, we might see the fight of the century, with Spanish pride at stake. Edwards is close enough to pick up a podium.

Oh Dear! As a fan of racing it's not what I wanted at all. It looks like two races in one. Rossi against Stoner which wont affect the Title, only pride at stake. Lorenzo against Pedrosa which wont affect the Championship, only Spanish pride at stake. This could mean the marshals having to re-rake the kitty litter, I fear.

Good post Duke. Let's not forget that these guys are racers, 2nd is not good enough for them. I prefer a rider, who is doing well, to say that he wants more. Much better than someone in midfield saying he is happy. It is only 1st practice though.

I would like to see Casey win, he rides it like a 500 2stroke, great to watch. I can't help feeling though that if he is in 4th position after 10 laps we might see the mystery illness come back. but I sincerely hope not.
