MotoGP »'s MotoGP top ten: 7th

this is all very reminiscent of the 03-04 off season speculation in the press... rossi "would take time to adjust to the yamaha"... "be lucky to get a few podiums" biaggi said, "if i had valentino's honda..." well he got it! and four world championships later rossi was still competitive with injuries that would have kept me in bed for most of a year! and where's max? oh yeah! he's world superbike champ... and still a ****er! so speculate and bench race all you want! test times, press speculation, rider quotes (casey on a honda) are all less than meaningless... it only counts on sunday after the lights go out... (or saturday in holland and sunday night in qatar, but you get my point i think!)

MotoGP » Rossi, Hayden battle brightens spaced-out race

couple things to say here... for those that failed to notice, rossi straight up said "stoner was riding in a different sport today..." meaning he was 'untouchable' by anyone including the new world champ. takes a real sportsman to admit that so cudos to rossi for that. second, the brass balls award goes to nicky for making the pass with three laps to go thus giving Vale the chance to retake him if he could. that was a manly thing to do. his last lap block pass on lorenzo at aragon would have worked just as well on rossi, but he didn't do that and for that alone he deserves respect. and for anyone who still thinks hayden is not an 'alien' i'd like to see anyone of you stick with rossi for most of a race at PI with sketchy conditions and then stuff it up the inside at the honda hairpin and proceed to lead the GOAT around for a couple laps closing off the inside line in every corner but one!

MotoGP » POLL: Is Valentino Rossi right to join Ducati?

and as to stoner on a honda... i recall that he spent more time picking it up outta the gravel than he did on it... the LCR apparently had 'front end' problems like his ducati does now... there's no doubt it will be a very interesting season! especially if rossi manages to win in valencia and then again in Qatar! only one to ever do that x2! and a world championship for a third manufacturer would elevate him from his current status of motoGP 'legend' to the realm of the 'mythical'. we shall see... as well as spies on a factory bike... oh my!

MotoGP » POLL: Is Valentino Rossi right to join Ducati?

@ racefan... JL's Yamaha? are you kidding! it appears most of the posters to this forum either weren't around in 2004 or were not paying very close attention. i recall one 'roman emperor' whinging on and on that "if i had valention's honda i would win all the races too...!" yeah? well he got the honda and rossi took the, then piece o' 5hite Yam and turned it into the bike it is easy today with big help from jeremy b, Masao Furusawa, Masahiko Nakajima and Hiroya Atsum according to rossi himself. the desmo is a far more competitive bike than the m1 was back 6yrs ago so it should be an interesting first season... depending on who rossi brings along which is "up to him" sez Gabriele del Torchio
