WSBK » Superstock class to be phased out?

Buddy "Left to Dorna WSBK series will be the global club racing" Mick Doohan 1990 "WSB is just a world club race" Thats what it basically started out as, the original format was great. Absolutely Stavros, I would imagine the biggest time gain between the stock and SSP/SBK classes are the tyres becuase don't the stockers have to run on road tyres? SSP is supposed to but if you read the regs (available to all fim.ch) you realise they only have to be marked for road use. Seems ridiculas that SBK's can use GP electornics, suspension and other bits, they are even allowed to use electronic suspension banned in GP. Too many classes taking funds from a small pool, with having to pay their own travel and for tyres (rich teams can afford more) no wonder entries are dismally low in both classes, we have not seen the entry for stockers yet.

WSBK » No Brno round for 2013?

Haha Shamoron, its more fun to hang on and wait for your next dreamland fact. Just post the figures to back up your "YET AGAIN" bias statements and prove WSB rules, (FFS), while your at it prove what I say is thrashing about!

WSBK » No Brno round for 2013?

Do you know how many bikes were on the grid just before Dorna took over GP? I doubt it. The Austrian GP in 1991 there was 14, 10 of them were factory supplied bikes along with the Millar Yam lease private bike for Laycock. After a few years of large grid numbers in 1999 Dorna set the limit to 24 (Just the number this year) and signed 5 year contracts with 5 satellite teams to give them security where they could sell/lease their grid slot if they weren't used, this gave them a fair share of the purse. To get a slot using a CRT at the moment is as much about getting a grid place for the future as the last year in 250,125. The most that the grid has dropped by in the last few years is 7, look at the WSB figures again, they allow 36 bikes but last year managed 2 more than Motogp although for most of the season 22, thats 14 down, this year at the moment 20 down. WSB needs a similar stable structure for the teams and it needs common SBK rules globaly rather than different for every country.

WSBK » No Brno round for 2013?

Shamoron "attendance is down at all circuits. particularly on the grandprix side." NOW GIVE US THE WSB FIGURES, admittedly dropping from 6000 to 5500 is hardly news. Where do you get your quotes from? They are from the 3 day figures anyway. Jerez GP Still had 184160 through the gate Sachsenring GP 195685 through the gate Valencia GP 119782 through the gate Catalunya GP 141451 through the gate Aragon GP 81158 through the gate (2nd lowest euro) Estoril GP 87148 through the gate GET THIS Brno GP 212303 through the gate The Italian rounds did suffer badly so did the riders, again though do you have a comparible figure for WSB? We won't go into the rest of the world, and certainly won't mention the Miller round. So as for "particularly on the grandprix side" there is a bit bigger picture in europe. As I say please provide the WSB figures as I was at 2 rounds which was more a gathering than a crowd.

WSBK » No Brno round for 2013?

Hahaha, blame Dorna. Another circuit that announced it was struggling to make this round pay under the previous regime. FGS (IMS) stopped releasing crowd figures a couple of years ago because they were so bad and they were always inflated guestimates before that anyway. I am sure if Silverstone could get out of their contract they would, this years attendence was embarrassing as was Donington. There was never 120k in one day at Brands Palmer proved that, can you get 120k in Brands? The next one to disapear wil be Portamao, the circuit is in administration for 350m owing Ecclestone 20m, IMS had to pay for the round this year, why would you schedule another? There is no rescue plan for the circuit. You just have to look at the previous management and see why they handed over 93% of their company over for free and thought the parent company would bankrole their dream, but were wrong.

MOTOGP » Ben Spies: The moment I decided to leave Yamaha

It beat Baylis as well, the bike he won on was only 1 race before Casey did. I read this report on Spies yesterday and thought this will be Crash conspiracy gold. He wasn't performing so therefore was threatened, happens in all walks of life except football players. How many of you out there would still be in your job after 18 months of unsatisfactory results?

WSBK » Provisional 2013 WSBK grid

Yes and with a track temperature less than half of the WSB boys the CRT's were as quick if not quicker, so that wouldn't be very good would it? For the championship that so many on here bleated on about being better for fuller grids and more manufacturers, the legacy of Flamini is not looking good. 22 in WSS really bad, yes it may fill out a bit but with less than 2 months to go, they won't be significant. Effenbert and Pro-ride, good stable teams, the oly time pro-ride were stable was when MZ were paying the bills in Moto2.

WSBK » WSBK Rider of the Year vote: 1st

PCXmac, I'm no world championship rider but going fast on cold tyres, destorys them. Going balls out for few laps appears to destory Pirelli's, holding back half a second for the entire race conserves Pirelli's. So a race where you have 5 laps @ 1.29 + 15 laps @ 1.31 = 30.09 minutes. 20 laps @ 1.29.5 = 29.49 minutes. Ex GP riders seem to handle it like that. Your correct the Bridgestones are made to push harder, however if you don't push them hard enough they don't work making slower lap times, this is not the case with Pirelli's so for faster times Bridgestones are the weak SOURCE. Look up Guintoli's comments. Pirelli's may be made of sauce I don't know. So what you are saying and it is believeable the only times Tom won is when Pirelli gave him the special tyre.
