MotoGP » BT Sport reveals MotoGP TV line-up

As a couple have said Melanie Sykes doesn't need to know anything about bikes, if she is a good professional presenter she will present a coordinated programme. As most of you on every other topic have bleated on your not paying for it, then what does it matter who presents it. It always makes me laugh, if your a fan then contribute, the sport grows and gets better. Unfortuneatley, pay TV is where the top events will go, get used to it.

MotoGP » Honda would 'stop' if software is controlled

Talentfan - How much? "When WCM brought an R1 engine based bike the Mfrs didn't like it and I think Dorna didn't want the lines blurred to the opposition WSBK." Wrong so wrong. When Sepang test 2 takes place Espargaro is likely to be on an FTR chassis although not definate, what happens if he goes slower? Will you say that the Yamaha has a rider aid in a better chassis? The last time I looked this was called Motor Sport.

MotoGP » Honda would 'stop' if software is controlled

So would you like to see everybody race without any technology? so basically you want to watch is running race with everybody naked, barefoot across natural land? Every inch of these bikes is technology, not just the electronics, do you want them to go back to running liquorice for tyres, welded tube frame and no suspension? From the first bike I ever rode, my fathers Goldstar, to my Fizzie, to my RD250/400 so on so on, even to my sons wonderful RS125 is an evolution of technology. What my father would have given in his day to have a frame that flexed with a calculated amount when leant over instead of a solid board. You want rid of rider aids, well those tyres, chassis suspension are all aiding the rider to go faster . Stick all of todays riders on 1950's Aerial square 4's and the results wouldn't change to top riders would still find a way to get them going faster.

MotoGP » Honda would 'stop' if software is controlled

TalentFan: These days racing is able to be seen over a much wider audience and with a far greater depth of detail and accessible information and data. We as fans are better informed and better able to appreciate and realise when we are being sold one thing and then receiving something else altogether.
Yes and all this information available to you courtesy of engineering genius.
Dunno about YOU but I hate being treated like I'm a fool and too dumb to know when I'm being had.
Someone who feels like a fool generally is one. Tell me as a passionate fan how much do you pay into the sport?

So every rider every race uses the same tyre and same tyre pressure, every rider uses the same spring, preload, fluid and rake, every rider uses the same geometry, foot peg position gear ratio, seat position, disc sizes etc etc. What ever happens, which ever strategy they choose without the heart to brake late, (with thr rear wheel in the air and no electronics making any difference at that point) and take a corner fast. What software cannot do is correct a problem after it has happened if it could the Honda riders would not fall off, you can try but with so many permatations it cannot react quick enough, just like when Asimo falls over. I don't know why Honda do not use direct injection, I am sure if it was an advantage they would use it, personally I don't care what Honda do and if they are not happy with the spec sofware then go. What I am against is people believing that the software wins the races for these guys, it does not, if it did the test riders would be every bit as fas

Wosideg, you tell me what software related developement is any different to a mechanical device? Tell me as well which rider would not be as fast without the rider aid and your proof. RIder aids do not help a rider have less fear of going 220mph, rider aids do not help riders brake later than the next one, rider aids do not make a rider go though a corner faster than the next one.

Talentfan - "What SELLS is the human endeavour element NOT the technology element in the final analysis. End of. " What you mean to say is selective technology What about the technology companies investing heavily in Motogp and F1 who put their products out there hoping you and manufaturers will buy them? With the spec ECU Dorna will control the amount of aids are available in the software, however what they will not do is compromise safety and see riders out for weeks or not making to the end of the race. BHP will have to drop and ultimately speed and speed is what people want to see. Do you think the 500's would have ever reached 180bhp without the electronically controlled powervalve?

Talentfan - "The answers are all obvious. Yet people STILL fail to get it that it's ALL about HOW something is achieved NOT what technology they used to achieve it. What SELLS is the human endeavour element NOT the technology element in the final analysis. End of." Not everybody, technology is achieved by human endeavor, it is an amazing feeling when asked if something is possible and you achieve it, it may not be seen by many people but it is no less satisfying.
