MotoGP » Rainey to help run American road racing

Codger: I think Casey could do a good job in helping young Aussie riders. He certainly has good contacts and everyone who worked with him seemed to like and respect him.
Doohan would be better , more of a business brain. Sheene used to use his contacts to help but thats about it, his philosophy was "If your good enough the sponsors will come", however he didn't exactly have to struggle to get in.

Why pick on Stoner though?, need to let go. When mentioning Rossi and Rainey, what about Puig? without him a lot of British riders wouldn't be up there. What about Gresini, Ceccinello, Martinez, Okada, Pons, Boscoscuro, Ajo and Alzamora? That's without mentioning the ones who do a lot behind the scenes. One thing you will notice missing from there is a British name.

Onemoreround: Why do I as a fan have a desire to attend a GP or SBK race?
Thats what SBK has become and helped it almost disappear, its not what it was meant or claimed to be.

MotoGP » Donington Park to host 2015 British MotoGP

Johnny13: Well Donington have just released and ''early bird special'' for fans to get cheap tickets. 10,000 available.
Promoter and circuit badl,y in need of funds if you ask me, they haven't even decided if your paying for your child yet. As I have said before, Gillett and DVLL springs to mind, looking more and more like the Sunday market will be on again that day to add to the chaos.

MotoGP » Donington Park to host 2015 British MotoGP

Tetley: OK, so we didn't camp, but the huge difference between Spanish and UK attendance costs really does need to be investigated
It wouldn't need to be a long investigation, for a start the £ is strong against the €, if it was the same it would have been £90, closer to the Silverstone mark. The Montmelo race gets local government funding as they know it brings a lot of trade to the area, something you will never get in the UK so you can add another £10 to that. The average Spanish wages are estimated to be around 16% lower than the UK ( a lot more if you London into account). Prices are generally cheaper in Spain (for us taking the exchange rate into account again) except things like running cars. Just a couple of points

MotoGP » Silverstone ‘extremely disappointed’ to lose 2015 MotoGP

SasquatchBob: We had to go on a budget this year as I'm in the first year of a new business so funds are tight. It still cost an awful lot of money though.
Ha tell me about it, peoples perception of business owners are 180deg out, particular the first couple of years. You shouldn't get down, its not always cracked up to be, the teams work hard all weekend although you meet them its mainly PR people you deal with. Hopefully WSB are learning because their paddock was atrocious and easy to see why a lot of the bikes are blank, the riders are supposed to be more accessible there but are worse in my opinion. My missus still has a gripe with Laverty after he headed straight for her on his scooter then ran into the Aprilia garage. Now that is one thing I would ban at the track, team members riding around the paddock and track with no regard for anybody.

SasquatchBob: And... I personally know of 6 people who 'blagged' tickets at the last minute, including pit lane and paddock passes.
Half of the people who go on freebies are that way, with the hope of hooking them into the sport, again it happens in all kinds of things. However the pitlane and paddock passes, free entry ok, maybe blag some free food and drink, but unless you are a guest of the team pretty boring. The pitlane pass is purely for a walk down the front of it between practice and racing. Just wandering around, good for kids who like it to get autographs and pictures. Also these sad adults who insist on having selfies with the riders??? But you won't get anything out of them. I don't understand this real race fan thing, what is the distinction? If you love something I do what it takes to see it.

SasquatchBob Which balance bikes are you on about? the motorised ones or the Kiddimoto type things. The was entertainment into the night at the circuit, I know Toseland were due on Saturday night, I could hear stuff going on at night from the circuit on Friday as well. I stopped at Whittlebury that put on there own entertainment, but nothing like what you get at Woodlands, which £60 for 4 nights doesn't seem too bad for what you get, although can't vouch for this year. Try getting that at Skeggy. May daughter said something about the air display which there normally is, the Torando was ace 4 years ago, admittedly not as good as the Harrier.
