MOTOGP » Aspar to maintain Kawasaki presence?

I really hope this Aspar / Kawasaki deal come good. Even though Team Green did not set the world alight, the idea of ANOTHER team going is just bad news. Roberts, Illmor, Aprilla and even KTM from the 250''s ..... its no good. With WSB getting BMW & Aprilla back, MotoGP needs to pull its socks up & quick. Even if like Kropotkins wrote, that he might only run 1 rider, well its better then nothing. Its a last minute deal, but I feel the best man to pull it off is Aspar. Good luck.

Not sure about the FIM needing 18 bikes. Im sure its 15 riders for a world title. If Suzuki pull out and Setés money fails to show up, then that leaves only 14. That will be the end on the MotoGP 800cc class unless 1 more bike + rider can be entered on the grid. Lets hope Aspar can do a deal with Kwack to buy [ read be given ] 2 ZX-RR' s for Hopper. Not bothered about Marco. Harsh I know, but far. Aspar can get a major sponsor by clicking his fingers, so money should not be a problem, although I'm sure John my have to move his decimal place. Late edit: What I find even more amazing, is that the offical motogp.com website STILL has got nothing about this !

Ill give MS his due's, he has got balls !! Most top ten MotoGP riders would not challange Rossi to a ROC style race, but MS will give it go, if nothing else......... for the fans. He would loose. But MASSIVE thumbs up for wanting to give it a go.

What next ? The 125 stroker's going in favor of 450 Thumper singles ? I like the idea of progress and the 1/4 ltr class does need more makes in it. App / Gil / derbi are all the same bike after all. No Jap makes have full factory support & KTM have pulled out now. May be this will be good. Time will tell.
