MotoGP » Official: Cal Crutchlow to Ducati MotoGP team

Go Cal! Win on the Ducati and expose the myth of Casey...! (Don't forget to ask for Casey's special tyres tho) Of course if you do win, it will be because the bike is not in any way the same as the bike Casey had blah blah blah its all a conspiracy blah blah blah And if you lose it will be because only Casey can win on the Ducati because it is inherently the same bike as Casey had blah blah blah its all a conspiracy blah blah blah

@ Dacron “Everything has changed very quickly," Stoner said. "In previous years I would get nothing but mistrust from the media, and generally very little consideration for what I was doing and the effort I was putting in. "But then Valentino and I changed bikes: he took the one I had had for four years, while I took the bike of my dreams to show what I'm able to do. "This change of situations has allowed me to let everyone understand that I could have fought for the title in previous years too, and that I could have won at least another title. But according to you, this stuff isn't important to Casey? So why does he go on and on about it? Why not just let the riding do the talking? Something you claim he only came to do? Seems to me he wants the public and media acclaim for what he's done without bothering to cultivate a relationship with them, y'know all that PR stuff

MotoGP » Rossi: Marquez can be the greatest ever

Ah, Transatlantic Trophy. I was there... Tried never to miss one. Always at Easter and generally raining. When Kev went across the grass down the curves I don't believe anyone thought it was possible to stay on!. Remember Fred too, all elbows and flat bars, it used to amaze me the selection of bikes that would run in the same race. I even bought a VF750F, the one with the soft camshaft, cos Ron was my hero back then, better I thought than Marshall and Burnett... Good days, I still have the photos!

Lol. Spies completely underperformed. Cal is hardly left out in the cold, he is currently on one of the top bikes on the grid and is in negotiations with practically everybody. The Spanish invest far more time, money and effort in bike racing than anyone else. Their success is deserved because they try the hardest! That's why the Brits send their boys to the Spanish academies. Yes it is a show, blame the Xbox Generation. Stoner knew this and went along with it while it suited him. In fact one of his complaints was that he wanted 'Star' status - even with only 2 WCs - but you can't manufacture popularity, just the opportunities to become so. The stuff he hated doing! If want only racing without all the razzmatazz, watch club racing, available everywhere, but don't forget to ask those guys where they'd rather be. It all just sounds like sour grapes boys...

Rossi has a typically cheeky view of the possible arrival of Stoner at Yamaha under Burgess. "Always Jerry say when I stop, he stop, but I don't trust him," said Rossi. "I think if he find a new talent with a young rider with good potential like Stoner, maybe he's able to continue. The important thing for me is he Jerry stay with me until I finish and then if he go with Stoner, I'm happy."

Hmmm "The biggest impediment to Yamaha signing Stoner is believed to be sponsorship problems. Yamaha are unsure how much more of the race budget they will need to tip in after Rossi's insistence that he won't race for tobacco brand Gauloises next year. Yet Stoner has a healthy back-up plan if the road to MotoGP is closed. Aprilia has a standing offer to supply him with factory 250cc bikes. And with Pedrosa, winner of eight races this year, out of his hair, Stoner would loom as a warm 250cc championship favourite next year. He has also been approached by starmaker Alberto Puig to ride Pedrosa's Honda next year. "For a rider like Casey, the route to the top would be much quicker at Yamaha," said Burgess. Stoner is a great talent but has plenty to learn. Sunday's own goal took his crashes for 2006 to an even dozen. Getting with Puig, a proven mentor, or with Burgess would surely fast-forward his education. Rossi has a typically cheeky view of the possible arrival of Stoner at Yamaha

Good Post Eddie, just some small corrections for accuracy... "It's nice of Honda to allow him to have a little pay, I'm not sure how good a test rider Casey will be though, he won the championship for Ducati on the best Bridgestone tyres. This is still the rider with the greatest speed in the last 2 decades Rossi included. As for coming back not a chance, a private test is fine, he gets to ride a top line machine behind closed doors away from half the jeering ****heads on this site and their infantile mud slinging. *Irony not intended. Stay retired Casey, there is a great crowd that follows a lot of European touring car series should you wish to come over to compete, I promise a few old men and a dog rather than the average bike fans that have derided you. Enjoy the RCV in private well away from any of the competition.
