MotoGP » Casey Stoner to test MotoGP Honda

Good Post Eddie, just some small corrections for accuracy... "It's nice of Honda to allow him to have a little pay, I'm not sure how good a test rider Casey will be though, he won the championship for Ducati on the best Bridgestone tyres. This is still the rider with the greatest speed in the last 2 decades Rossi included. As for coming back not a chance, a private test is fine, he gets to ride a top line machine behind closed doors away from half the jeering ****heads on this site and their infantile mud slinging. *Irony not intended. Stay retired Casey, there is a great crowd that follows a lot of European touring car series should you wish to come over to compete, I promise a few old men and a dog rather than the average bike fans that have derided you. Enjoy the RCV in private well away from any of the competition.

MotoGP » 'We never gave up' - Rossi on MotoGP victory return

Good point Fumi... Everyone...(well, old timers) goes on and on about other old timers, but they are not a patch on the guys riding today because they never had to deal with the immense physical acceleration / braking / cornering forces that racers have to deal with today, let alone the sheer speed (and consequently faster thinking/reaction times required). Bikes / Tyres and to an extent circuits (excepting the IOM) may have evolved, but human anatomy hasn't changed that much in the last 50 years! I can ride (and have ridden) any old Japanese 750-1000 from the seventies/early eighties well past its limits. Because the bikes were essentially sh*te. I can't get anywhere near them on a modern 600.

MotoGP » Casey Stoner receives Queen's Birthday Honour

HRH So you're telling me the Italian has won 9 World championships and is still competing and the Australian has only won 2 and has quit? Yet you want me to give an award to the Australian? PA Italy is not part of the Commonweath ma'am. HRH. I see. And what was this Stacey chap doing the rest of the time? PA He was fighting a long and valiant battle your Majesty. HRH. Ah really, that's more like it! Against whom? PA Ah.. erm ... milk... Ma'am. HRH MILK? PA Yes Ma'am HRH. Please tell me he won....! PA We don't really know Ma'am as he has 'retired' HRH Tell me, why has he quit? PA Marc Mar.... 'To spend more time with his family whilst racing some old cars and fishing' Ma'am. HRH Are you sure we can't just give the award to the Italian?

MotoGP » Casey Stoner receives Queen's Birthday Honour

Ah Samas, A lovely fairy tale about a drama Queen.. Here's another version :-) A conversation between HRH and her personal adviser. PA Your majesty, sorry to bother you but we have to give an award to an Australian sportsman.. HRH Oh goody!. Mark Webber? PA Afraid not your Majesty, It has to be for someone no longer participating. Chap called Casey Stoner. He has won 2 world championships. HRH ONLY two we've had British racers who won more WCs than that who received nothing. PA That's correct ma'am but he won a WC on a DUCATI. HRH Ah, the one with the special tyres?. PA Your majesty is remarkably well-informed. He went on to develop the bike until no-one could ride it, including himself. He decided to quit then, blame Ducati and switched to Honda. Ducati hired an Italian chap called Rossi on it A former NINE times WC and they paid him a fortune. HRH And tell me how did he do. PA Well by then ma'am he did get a second and a third, but by then the damage had already been done. HRH
