Bob I agree qualifiers are a waste of money time and effort. I`m not sure 1 make would tighten up the field, monopolies seldom do, it hasn`t helped that much in SBK. Besides Moto GP is supposed to be about development. If there had been one make in Moto GP Michelin would have probably got the contract. Having more than one make keeps the manufacturers honest, if they favour one rider then they do it at the risk of opening things up for another manufacturer.

I can`t believe Michelin, what a bunch of amateurs leaving riders having to test with intermediates in the dry? Pedrosa sure made the right decision not to race. Especially a shame for people like Edwards who have put so much work in for them. Looks like Rossi was right. As for single tyre manufacturers- suppose Michelin had won the contract? They used to dominate. Without Bridgestrone to keep them honest this would be a joke. You know SBK teams have to pay for their Pirelli`s?

how did Garry scare Rossi? By spinning the back wheel up like no-one else ever did off of a dirt track. When it worked no-one could keep up with him including Rossi. However it didn`t always work and he crashed a lot. It was very stylish and most heroic. Kind of like like Wayne Rainey but more so.

Any team should be glad to have Colin- surely he`s up there with Rossi and probably outranks Capirossi as the best development rider out there.

Dani`s weakness is braking into corners. He is however consistent, fast, intelligent, usually safe (except the one time he brought Nicky down- that was a bit of a clanger) and has a proven record in 250`s against Lorenzo and Stoner. He is fiercely competitive, especially close to home (Lorenzo, Nicky)
