I think a 1 race ban is about right. It's a definite no no to crash into someone on the sighting lap and telling porkies about brake failure makes it worse. But we don't want BSB to turn into F1 with arbitrary and draconian penalties handed out. I don't think Brookes is regularly a hazard, many of the best riders occasionally mess up. Sure this is unfair for Guintoli and bad for the championship but punishing Brookes won't fix Sylvan's leg.

I ve always said that the problem with one tyre make series is that there is nothing to make the tyre manufacturer try hard. Even if Michelin weren t producing tyres good enough to win championships, Bridgestone would have had to work to keep things that way. If it wern t for Bridgestone s competition Michelin would still be dominating the series today like they did all those years. Seems some bikes don t work with certain of this year s tyres, only having one viable tyre choice is a bit strange at this level.
