It took me an hour to check out the bunfight of posts, and some were cracking to read. My 2 pence in the pot would be Valentino struggling, well not struggling, but ADAPTING in such a short period of time to the "Fat pigs on Iron discs" compared to the "Ballet stars on Carbon" and the SLIGHTEST of errors or inconsistancies at this level would leave you in the mid packers. Once in the jaws of the fast incosistant Psychopaths you would struggle to break free while Troy continues at the front. Thats how I see it. I would love to see it, but this story is a fantasy.

Why the "Contest" between the two Darkwaknight I don't know other than to still get your face in the papers or have a joke that got a bit out of hand. As to the "I'm better than you bit" as far as the general public worldwide would be concerned it comes down to a simple test of 1000 oiks on the street in Major Cities and show them a picture of both Michael and Valentino. 75% would know michael, 40ish% would know Valentino. Does it make Michael better? No, it just means his feats in the racing world will be remembered longer than Valentino's. Thats probably what the two Ego warriors are more concerned about... Oh yeah, Micheal probably has more money too!

As for the Michael V's Valentino tussle for the top spot, as both Jon M and Darkwaknight have pointed out NEITHER will beat the other at their own game. So why dont they both try the Isle o Man TT Sidecar race!!! It's a bike and a car all rolled into one. And here's the bonus... Try to hard to prove your "Ego" is larger than the other mans and you could spend all the traction hours in hospital wondering why you pushed it too far..

Trikey, I think you missed the point of why Brands was dropped. The reason for dropping Brands was that Brands wanted too much money to host. The additional cost would've been passed onto the paying public so no-one would've lost their profit margin. The downside is that you lose Brands for one season. Big Deal. The plus side is that the organisers at brands realise that they cant hold "Ransom" demands for what is a great day out. That was the standpoint that the organisers chose and why no racing there for next year. If you (all paying punters) accepted the hike in entry fee, you will get hit again and again and again.

Good old Michael. Still got some fire left in him! He states he would race Valentino in a "day of champs race" in the cars, but not specific about exactly which cars. As to the bikes, why don't they BOTH do the historic bike race at Goodwood where they could both get slaughtered by Wayne Gardner. It's as fair a race as they could both compete. They wouldn't lose too much face with a bad performance and I would certainly love to see the result if not the race itself.

So someone must have a faster bike to beat Valentino? The only times that Valentino got beat was when he beat HIMSELF. He unwraps himself in certain stuations and makes mistakes(Valencia 2006) Wants to win at all costs(Jerez 2005) and is generally allowed to do no wrong in certain peoples eyes. But thats just point of view from whatever side of the fence you stand. G.O.A.T? and that tag was given to him by his ex-bridesmaid who has never stood on the top step yet in too many years of "It's feeling good for seasons start". Is he talking about his own bank account!? You can rely on Colin going backwards as much as you can rely on Hopper throwing it.

Christ, I almost forgot the main reason for the post! I have to say (through the gritted ones!) that Valentino this year did the number on everyone to take the title. More importantly was the fact the rider who finished third in last years standings took the crown. We have had three different champs in three years which is only a good thing and lets hope this trend continues. It would be fitting for next years results to be: 1st. Danni 2nd. Jorge 3rd. Dovi 4th. Casey 5th. Valentino The above would only be on a "It's your turn next" theory. Would be an ideal tho

Baja. For you to really believe that the '03 Yamaha was the same as the '04 version would explain how you truly believe in your own little world that Valentino is some sort of Hero/rider/suspension,electronics+design engineer all rolled into one. Throw in the fact there is no test rider for any of his equipment and I could see why you act like a cheap double glazing salesman by trying to ruin the reputation of your opposition rather than singing your own man's merits. Be good enough to not post "Casey is crap" on a casey thread. Just wait til tommorow to "wax lyrical" with your fellow blinkered as well as rubbing shoulders with some of the more level headed Valentino fans.
