MotoGP » Valentino Rossi predicts low-tech MotoGP future

Jack, it's all what floats yer boat. To me, competion is a game played by competitors on a level plane who understand the rules. Honest Jack, if it's the best in the world v's the other best in the world I don't care how many wheels or how fast. The glitz, glory and just good old bullpoop is the attraction mode to help todays short attention span generation keep watching the show. The idea of following a sport is a tribal thing to some of needing to be part of the action or as in the case of most of todays people, part of the winner. I don't buy the t-shirts, DvD's or the posters. If I subject my children to a day out at Silversnooze, then they will probably want plastic bag full of stickers and a t-shirt too. They're still very young and I refuse to pay good money for a bad seat when I see more at home and don't get caught up in the trying to leave mess thats always waiting for you after the show.

So what is MotoGp? Is it the show of pretty colours and the underlying love/hate storylines of a bad soap opera combined with a "lovely" day out with the crowds looking at overpriced T-shirts? Bad overpriced food and blokes wandering round topless swigging warm flat beer from a plastic pot telling stories of 180mph wheelies while being chased by half the local constabulary? Thats what the average punter from the races is in my eyes. The racing is what I want to see. If Casey and Co have to race Little tyke learner trikes round the local multystorey car park then thats what I will PAY to watch on Tv. 10 floors of negotiating those tight up and down ramps with the dangers of deisel slicks on down ramp entries with their little legs peddling like the clappers will be my fix. Some penalty points for breaking the expanded polystyrene mother and child boards is giving me the horn. As long as the racings tight I don't care what the steed they ride is.

MotoGP » Casey Stoner drives V8 Supercar

Jack. I belive that when you push so hard at the front, all it can do is washout and introduce you slowly to the ground. When at full lean the "fall" isn't that far. It's when you "brown up" the leathers, freeze and get the stage fright (Pedro with Marco this year?) that the spit you to the stars happens. You only have to look at Rubens Xaus as an example of how to fall without the snapped pinkies, ribs and collarbones!

MotoGP » Dovizioso fast on four wheels

If he ever sees straight again):( could be the next in line. Add Bradl and a young Maverick Vin to the mix and they could be the next coming. Could, not will, as the least expected can go under the radar and shine when their time arrives. I feel that Vale is "riding the Cheque". I would like anyone to challenge for wins. That includes Vale himself. Jorge and Casey won't slow down for the rest to catch them though.

@Discom. "In normal circumstances almost no rider can get superb results with bad bike (o.k. Stoner sometimes do that with Ducati, but also fell many times)." Ok, I hear what you say about the bad bike make bad CHAMPIONSHIP but not always a bad race. Stoner has WINS aswell as DNF's on the red weapon. In this game, I'm here to watch the racing. The persona side of them? Couldn't really give a damn as long as I don't have to see some fake organised post victory pantomime. Include Vale AND Jorge in the above. I couldn't care who the Victor is. As long as the victor gave their all to show the other racers where the queue for the top step is, thats a fine victory. Casey last Championship was 2011. He has to defend his OLD Championship next year to secure a new one. All the other riders start with a big fat 0 on the slate next year and it's all level until the lights go out first race. Youth will come and de-throne ALL. That includes Casey and Jorge too. Marquez (if he ever sees straigh

MotoGP » Stoner: MotoGP riders hate each other

Jack, you're right about Vale having done all his winning already as another dry (ie, lack of Champagne) season looms for the "Roscati". I wish it wasn't going to be that way but it's looking like another trophy cabinet drought. Just to keep the thread a running ref the 2004 Qatar gp in DAYLIGHT. Max also got the finger up the exhaust as he was also charged with scooter burnout on his start place to clean it up too. Both Max and Vale started at the back. Vale was moving well through the pack and Vale ran wide throwing it up the road. This was another reason for Gibernau getting the hate as Vale would've won by 20 secs making a real interesting race if he's dtarted front row.Casey winning by that margin makes for a boring race don't you know!. Both Max and Vale broke the rules, got caught and had to pay the price. Didin't Vale do a little win celebration involving brushes to celebrate this fact? I may be wrong and my memory could have imagined this!!

Thats a very fine point you make there McLarenP. Vale's career since 250's has been with the best teams and best bikes. 125's he cut his own path by appearing like Maverick Vinales to secure decent 250 rides. His talent got him the seat - he has always had Factory supported beast. Even last year he had a Factory weapon. He couldn't live with Casey's times though and he did look like his desire got battered out of him when all the changes still made the same result. All want to win at this level. Some steeds mean you will never see it though. Casey does like a good battle. He and Jorge had a good Laguna this year, better IMO than 2008. The difference is that Casey and Jorge will ride fairing on fairing. You CAN'T ride with Vale like that as Casey would've been pushed wide into the dirt on the start finish straight when he went for the overtake.

Hero, don't forget Koccinski! Weirdo at the best of times. Wiped Carl Fogartys nose in it to take the WsbK crown on a bike that Carl did average on. Johhny also ended Crafar's career when he bumped him while lapping him on his championship winning year! John is a succesful real estate guy these days I think. He was another "special" guy who couldn't care what anyone thought of him. I bet Carl Foggy still wishes him the best though.

AFS, it may be a bleak outlook but thats the reality of it all. The problem with todays society is too many think they're being followed round by a camera crew while they check their reflection in shop windows, muddy puddles and the windows of overpriced German tanks that the've hocked(too much finance for wallet) themselves to the eyeballs for to give a perception to others of their own delusions of grandeur. When the above raises a smile on your face 'cos you know a chap/ette like them just chill in your own world with cr written after your various bank statements and NOT dr. Casey speaks how you find and doesn't wander round wondering whose going to stick the knife in next as he doesn't make on track incidents personal. Spur of the moment lack of perfection causes his outbursts. I think he would likely scream "I F'#'#'ing HATE you" if he meant HATE the way most have taken his words.
