I am a big fan of VR AND CS however I have to give you VR fans a bit of a rev up. CS won 40 National & 70+ state titles without TC. He came second in 250's on a satellite bike. He didn't get on a factory bike until the Duc and he wins. He is still behind VR in the championship and you guys have given up on VR and are moaning about CS winning it already because of the bike. The bike that has the same TC as Valentino's bike, that has the same tyres AND that MM, TE & SG go so well on (dominant package that). I'm sure VR is glad to have the worldwide membership of the “ignorant sook club” as his fan base. If VR reads these posts he would say to himself “they've given up on me”...

Gibernau: 'Various MotoGP possibilities'.
JL - I think you nailed it with that analysis - it would still be good for Sete to hop on for half a season and prove it is a bike that could be ridden by someone other than Casey

Codger - This year CS's bike gave up on him and he went back out (wet race) on a bike with wets when it was drying and rode it to death. He had two run offs in another race (Jerez & Estoril?) and rode it to the end as hard as he could. The other Duc riders could do with that much resilience. And I totally agree with the statement about Valentino – he will ride it until the wheels fall off. He is a true champion but the argument doesn’t centre on that, it centres on the exclusivity of the role of “champion”. The Casey “fan boys” (note sarcasm) assert that there is more than “one”, sort of like polytheism vs monotheism. There is enough room for a demi god next to VR – the God of motogp

Last year in the wet (GBR) CS won, VR was fourth and DP 8th, at Le Mans it was a lot closer (CS 3rd, DP 4th VR 6th) so it is remotely plausible. That said I don’t think you have to take everything so literally. There is a lot of difference between “it would be nice” to “I will” be in the lead. I could say “It would be nice to have a bit of rumpy with Jessica Alba (for example), this is normal (I appreciate some of you guys don’t dig chicks) however if I were to say I “WILL have…”then it is stalking. See how the nuances and subtle innuendos within the language give us the contextual clues as to intent…you guys do judge a little harshly but that’s your prerogative I guess…

Last year Dani had the incident where he was practising his starts and flipped the Honda – The Duc was completely dominant on the starts but the roles have reversed a little. The Tech 3 bikes seem to start better than the Factory Yamahas and the Hondas are cleaning up. Nicki runs to the front so he can begin his slow march backwards nearly every race. I know we’ve had a lot of debate about the traction control but I seriously have to question whether launch control has a valid place in racing. It will never end up on a production bike and does nada for rider safety. VR for one started a hell of a lot better without it.

Duke –In regard to Casey's comments he just says it would be nice if he went into the break ahead, he doesn't indicate he believes he will. Nor does he entertain the prospect that he would enjoy or seek the demise of DP or VR. This week JL announced he was well and ready to hunt again, at Donington Valentino stated he was going to Assen to get a better position (he came 2nd). This is what these guys do – it is part psych warfare as well as self-affirmation – they have to be focused. VR is and he is the King of it, he announced that Sete would never win another race and Sete didn’t. Everybody does it and Casey didn’t invent it – so what’s your point.

RX - I think the evidence is that Casey fans want to talk about racing and bikes - Vale's unfortunate spokespeople want to talk about personalities and stuff. The way to declare this is let the riders ride, we can all have the "class vote" and when Valentino wins most popular student as voted by itchy and snot face or whoever we can buy them a Daniel Boone hat for having the most popular friend. Then the rest of us can strategise like all armchair racers over wet races, corner speed and the fact that Dani gets nearly every holeshot these days

Morgue - it was directed at Duke Puke who enjoys his role as agent provocateur too much.

Salt - sorry about the outburst. The prospect of rain here is an interesting one. Three riders have won partially wet or fully wet races in the 800 era (CS, CV & LC). If it is wetter I should favour CV as the dark horse, his teammate on the same bike is also dangerous as is CS (who we’re supposed to ignore). I see the weather as a huge factor here and what Huey sends down on race day may really impact on the championship in this round, as someone said it is a 50% chance and we haven’t seen any wet races thus far. The questions are, will Dani come to terms with a wet race (never really his forte) and how will Vale who can ride in any conditions fare with his first wet race on Bridgestone’s?

and your subjective pointless criticism show that you are little more than a narrow minded and repugnant individual wallowing in self-importance. I usually refrain from responding to idiots (as they drag you to their level and beat you with experience) but for you I make the exception. You didn’t even attempt to respond to my assertion that Valentino needs to get away from the start a little better (experience with Bridgestone’s?) and the sum total of the contribution of any of your posts is ZERO. You truly are an idiot. Try to argue constructively and not make continual ad hominem slings at riders and other persons attempting to engage in reasonable debate.

I greatly admire Valentino as well and my fanaticism (which I’m not able to detect) does not extend to insulting other people on this forum (I’m about to make an exception for you) or belittling riders on subjective grounds. As for some of your other claims – I’ve lived in England (Jessel House, Westminster -I was last there in May 08) and have many friends and associates there who are fanatical about racing – I never detected the rampant anti-stonerism you hang you hat on (my youngest daughter was brought into being in Austria and has Austrian god parents as well). That fact that you purport to speak for so many is not reflected in this forum (you are often subject of derision)
